Very much so.

I surrendered there on Thursday and was relieved of 22000bt.

Room 509 is chokka and you cannot register your address in room 507.

507 is occupied by a very rude cow telling everyone within 100 metres to go to the new building to reg addresses.

There must be 2 tonnes of paper in room 509...... so much for the computer age! :)

It's still open...I was there 18 Sep/Friday. It moves to Chaeng Wattana on 28 Sep/Monday. See below cut and paste quote from the immigration web site http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/move.html. Based on the "Remarks" in the announcement, Suan Plu is not closing; rather, it's only downsizing and will still service visa issuing, visa extension and 90 days report for the special labor of 3 nationalities ( Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar ). So, if you are a foreigner from Laos, Cambodia, or Myanmar, you would continue to go to Suan Plu for those services. Will interesting to see how well staffed the new Chaeng Wattana office ends up as I expect only part (i.e., XX%) of the current Suan Plu staff will transfer to Chaeng Wattana.
