Pepe'
Never really thought about it before but I just did. Most of us here do have an uncanny fasination with Thailand. Don't ya' think? I have traveled and lived for periods all over this world. Still nothing, no place, intrigues me like Thailand. How about you?

Pepe'
Thais say that if you go to Ayutthya then you lived there in a past life. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Funny that you say that. I am always compelled to spend time there and have missed it on the trips I was not able to go. My wife's family is no longer surprised when I say, "let's go to Ayutthya." I have spent days there walking around the ruins and always feel so peaceful, unlike anyplace else I have ever been. I have also had terrible visions/feelings about the Burmese attack there and have felt an uncanny intense hatred for what they did. My wife has suggested I lived there before... Makes ya wonder... Neeranam
QUOTE(ProfessorFart @ 2005-03-20 18:14:49)Thais say that if you go to Ayutthya then you lived there in a past life. Funny that you say that. I am always compelled to spend time there and have missed it on the trips I was not able to go. My wife's family is no longer surprised when I say, "let's go to Ayutthya." I have also had terrible visions/feelings about the Burmese attack there and have felt an uncanny intense hatred for what they did. My wife has suggested I lived there before... Makes ya wonder... Oh yeah, it makes me wonder! Many years ago in India I went to a Brahma temple where I immediately recognised it, and got a very very strange feeling, if not a 'religious experience'. I felt totally at home in this little town. I started thinking that hey, maybe I was the maharaja in a previous life. It seemed to make sense at the time, while I was studying about Hinduism and Buddhism. On returning to UK, I was invited to take part in a TV show, woth Uri geller as one guest, all about Halloween, supernatural etc. I was invited as I was in an spiritual organisation that believed in reincarnation. There was a famous Hypnotist on the show who, earlier had hypnoyically regressed me to a previous life. Was I a Maharaja? Was I <deleted>! I'd rather not go into who I was, but a normal Scottish chappie. A bit scary to say the least. I still, obviuosly, believe in re-incarnation. However, why a previous life? It could be a future one. The concept of reincarnation to the average westerner is as far fetched as the concept of no reincarnation is to half the world's population. Why should the concept of cyclic time be any different? I think I may be a Thai in a future life, or past, or they are the same if time is cyclic.
Thaiboxer
Thais say that if you go to Ayutthya then you lived there in a past life.Interesting point Professor...I visited Autthaya for two days last year with my wife. We explored many of the ruins and visited the old Portuguese settlement along with various other points of interest. It's a peaceful little town and easy to drive around; mostly a big circle. The Burmese attack in 1767 was devestating to say the least but at least a large number of temples were spared. Seven years after that attack, Nai Kanomtom fought and defeated ten Burmese boxers (one after the other) in Rangoon which allowed him and the other Thai prisoners to return home. I think the attack on Autthaya was Burma's only major victory over the Thais as many of their other attempts to take over any land here were thwarted. bangkokian
I am technically a Siamese, and I too have fancied that I was/will be Scottish/Irish or the "Brits" (pre-Enlightenment usage) at one point in Time. A much bigger range of these than when in home turf? I mean many of the pattaya jumpers had the same feeling right? Not trying to be trite but it must be more? What is it really? I dont try to analyse it too much.....I have been to other villages but I dont feel the same connection as I do with this village....the first time I went there I just seemed to click with it....Past life or lifestyle or just good local people....something makes me very comfortable there. a sense of belonging. bangkokian
Yes, the words are linked linguistically--Each word comes with a frequency, so when two places have similar names, they are supposed to be energetically similar in some ways. quote=Neeranam,2005-03-21 13:54:32] Perhaps we're connected to Ayodhya (in India).
