Could anyone confirm if this is illegal or not?

I read today someone was scammed/fined for having this in his possession.

Seems a bit odd considering it is sold blatently on the street around sukhumvit area. In addition, its also readily available in pharmacies and upon purchasing the pharmacist never questions/warns or batters an eyelid....

If this is illegal, how are you supposed to know?? I would also like to know of anywhere the rules for what you are allowed to have or have not are written in specific terms.

Thanks

Well you need a prescription so yes it would be deemed illegal as in most countries. However BIB isnt interested in a lad with a packet - waste of time at the end of the day.

Only arrests I've seen were normally the sellers, and lads that try to smuggle in stuff from Cambodia.

I don't mean to laugh, but just because somebody (troll or not) on another thread said he got shaken down by some under cover lads near Suk 22 for having one of these in his pocket is no reason to panic mate.

Ilegal without prescription.

I read in the news recently that a van load was stolen outside a pharmacy on lower Sukhumvit.

The police are looking for a bunch of HARDENED criminals....

...Looks like they will get a STIFF sentence...

I'll get me coat.

As mentioned, illegal without prescription. Specifically, it is category "S". As are the other ED drugs.

For definition of these categories and to find out whether a particular drug is or is not legal for OTC sale consult the MIMS, see pinned notice for details.

Over the years we've had more than one report of TV members being shaken down for having this on them without evidence of prescription. Granted, in at least one case the person was intoxicated and acting in a manner which may have led the police to suspect/hope they'd find more serious contraband on him, with the Viagra fine just the best they could do when search failed to yield anything else.

And I think another case was in the context of the police having been summoned to a hotel due to an alteraction after shall we say a transactional sexual encounter.

But still, it does happen.

I also seem to recall this happening to someone right after walking out of a pharmacy that openly sold it (or something they claimed was Viagra) i.e. may have been a set up.

The police are clearly aware of the laws with regard to ED drugs and do invoke them from time to time. .
