Things To Do On Koh Samui?

Featured Replies

Hello,

We are heading down to Samui for a week. Has anyone got any recommendations of things to see and do?

Do you think it is essential to book all accommodation before arriving or is it quiet at this time of year?

We will be looking to stay in budget air-con places.

Cheers.

PS - whats the weather like today?

Weather great today but some rain forecast for next few days.

Accomodation will be easy to find anywhere on the island.

Weather here is warm & Sunny but over the last few days the occasional heavy downpour once a day.

As far as hotels are concerned you will have no problem finding accommodation of any standard, however if I were you I would still book in advance as 'walk in' rates will be probably higher than pre-booking.

Our standard visitor attractions are:

Namuang Safari Park, Big Buddha (although Plai Laem Temple just round the corner is more impressive), Mummified Monk, Hinta Hinyai Rocks,

new TESCO Lotus in Lamai :):D and that's about it.

I would recommend the canopy adventure! Really exciting. Going through the tree tops on a zip wire!

Your chance to become Tarzan for the day :)

Also i have seen this but never tried it myself.....its a big ball, you go inside it and you get rolled down the hill! Looks imprssive.

Maybe someone on here can describe it better or knows if its any good.

Golf, Driving Range (for beginners), MiniGolf, Shooting Range, Fishing, Big Game fishing, Jet Ski- (careful of the scam), rent a Katamaran, a Cruise boat, a sail boat, go to Ko Tao for snorkeling, evening out at Zico's, go dine at the Red Snapper, PREGO, The Cliff for that extra Special evening...Tropical Murphy's, bit further down the road "The Duke" to get soaked and enjoy a couple a rounds of pool, or just watch some english soccer, same, same at "the Islander".... explore the island, should fill the schedule for a week neatly!

Thanks people - can't wait!

Just looking for a reasonable place to stay online in Chaweng area.

When you say shooting do you mean real guns?

Oh, I thought it was some shooting range where you can have a go on real guns for fun.

There is a real shooting range, with real guns & ammunition.

Actually two, one opposite Makro, Chaweng (the original one).

The other one close to Namuang waterfalls.

Just guns.

Not like in Cambodia ten years ago with hand grenades and anti-tank missiles. (option to buy a cow for target) :)

Go to Nathon and get the first ferry to the mainland and head up to Prachuap province, or if you can afford it fly :)

Try diving :) The water has been good the last week or so and it is a great way to spend a day :D

Go to the go-cart track, great fun with the supercarts there, sure to give you an adrenaline rush.

Cheers guys. Did the boat and kayaking around the Angthon national park and then did an island tour to see the sights and some monkies and then swam in a waterfall.

It's very quiet over there at the moment. Does it pick up at Christmas?
