Some years ago I made a visa run from Hat Yai to Padang Besar (another border pass not so far from Sadao and less trafficked). And there was a good Duty Free with a fair choice of alcohol and a huge choice of chocolate (slurp)

I beleive a Samui/Myanmar Visa Run Bus had a smash over the weekend, a Friend of mine was on it..

No one seriously hurt but smashed windows etc & pretty scary, he said the driver was " a f*%$(# Maniac "..

With the last boat at 6pm a one day border run is a risk, the van must fly.....

Yep, even at the potential expense that could cost Human Life, the Van must fly to make that 16:00 Boat cos heaven forbid it missed it & caught the 17:00... :)

Edit : The last Boat is 19:00 7 not 18:00 if my memory srves me right anyway, Seatran at least..
