Michelin-starred Thai Chef Comes To Bangkok

Featured Replies

Lertchai Treetawatchaiwong and Henrik Yde—Andersen, Chef Owners of 1-Michelin Star Kiin Kiin from Denmark at The Sukhothai Bangkok

Kiin Kiin is the 1st Thai restaurant part-owned by a Thai to achieve a Michelin star.

Kiin Kiin Thai restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark, from joint owners Lertchai Treetawatchaiwong and Henrik Yde—Andersen has received much praise from food critics and in 2008 was awarded a star in the prestigious international Guide Michelin.

Yde strikes every signature note of Thai cooking. Kiin Kiin serves Thai food with a modern twist. Every detail is thought through, from the pre-appetizers to the decorations.

A little bit off topic...

Regarding the fact that these chefs (unfortunately, I do not know them) must be really top of the range, Michelin guide is crap!

Since the tragic suicide of Bernard Loiseau, in the 80's, Michelin has been boycotted by French "Grands Restaurants" followers... and French chefs either.

Man of them decided to change their concepts or refused their dictacture standard.

Few years later, following Michelin, London was the new "gastro-city" with more rosettes than Paris... Then sh^t happened, again...

And now, after promoting their blah-blah (which actually there is not in their little red book!) in New York... They made Tokyo the food capital of the universe...

Not a bad marketing product from a tyre maker... but certainly not a food lover companion!

Otherwise,

Bon Appetit! :)
