Cannot see or find the logic in this ??

Near me on the main road lots of tent dealers + I call in most weeks when passing

http://www.one2car.com/CarInfor/cardetails...90068&row=2

This car was For Sale for 299,000 in August 2008, later it moved to another tent dealer same side further down and was 305,000, a few months later it was in the middle and priced at 320,000, later 340,000 and has moved again still in the middle tents and now 360,000..

it is now well over a year older, but has gone up 61,000 baht, but stayed on the same site. :)

I could understand it if the car had moved to a different area, but to me makes no sense, if it did not sell at 299,000 how is it going to sell at 360,000 ?

When I lived in town a few years ago a neighbour had an old soluna he was trying to sell.

It was in good condition and he wanted over 200k bht for it.

Another neighbour told us that the price went up every year and when the new vios came out he wanted even more money for it.

It had been sitting in his driveway for about 5 years!

When I first came to Thailand 8 years ago I looked at buying a motorcycle.

I found a nice 400 Yamaha at 80k bht.

I thought it a little overpriced at the time.

It is still in the dealership, priced at 85k bht! It hasn't been moved.

I have never seen any logic in Thai second hand vehicle prices.

Easy: The longer they have it the more it costs to store it. When sales slow, you up the price to make more each sale! You must use Thai logic!!!

Seriously, good chance odometer is magically lower now. It also could have had a dodgy book which since got sorted. The new tent may have done a major service or repair on something. Maybe now there are Proton dealers to service and get parts from were there wasn't before?

The price of scrap metal has been going up regularly.....until the last few weeks! :D

Price should be going down again shortly! :)

The classic car marked is different than overseas, because you can't really get classics overhere, so a "half classic" is already a real classic overhere. So for example if someone have a Alfa Romeo Spyder from the early 70ties, wich is very rare overhere, just for example, they wil ask for about close to a million Baht, because those kind of cars are impossible to find again, once it's sold. Different in western coutries, where you sell the above named car for about 6'000 USD (instead of one million), because tomorrow you'll find 3 other ones again. I personally love American cars. Instead of a 69 Pontiac GTO (wich i can't find overhere) i drive a Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 2 door V8 and paid almost 20'000 USD for it. In US the same car would cost about 2'000 to 6'000 USD, depend on condition, but i don't like to sell it for that price, because once it's sold i have the penalty to drive in a ordinary Japanese car, because i can't find another US Car with V8 again, and this i don't want. therefore the price is so high. It woud be different, if i could buy 3 otherones tommorrow, but i can't. Therefore every cars are expeisive overhere. A 77' BMW 635 CSI use to cost about 280'000 Baht, 10 years ago. Today can't find anymore this kind of car. The same again!
