Grass Trimmer Or Weed Cutter In Cm

Featured Replies

Sawasdee Khrup TV Friends,

In some of the hardware shops along CharoenMuang we've found various scythe-like (curved) and large-knife like blades, but, as yet, not found anything like the grass trimmer or weed cutter shown here which are common in the USA :

No luck at Home Pro in Carrefour, either. If we had the blade part, getting a nice stick would be no problem.

Any ideas ? Seems like the norm here is for tools to be used while bending over or stooping (or, of course, motorized weed-whackers). Our ancient backside don't want to stoop no more, but swinging a weed cutter, like those we blistered our teenage fingers on long ago, like a golf club, would be no problemo.

thanks, ~o:37;

I have not seen the type of long handled cutter as described in the web site.

But in Hang Dong market there are 2 shops at the rear of the market that sell only the blades.

The blades have a hollow opening at the top similar to a broom for a handle to be inserted. You can purchase the handle or long stick and than attach it to the blade.

I've seen the "L" shaped trimmers (like Item No. 62101) at various shops. You have to get a nice piece of bamboo or something to insert into the handle mount. The steel used for these is pretty soft and and sharpening them usually causes a little steel loss, but at 70 baht or so, not too bad.
