I want to copy my phone sim card (not for use on 2 phones at same time) ... i.e. one for my PDA I use for international travel and one for my small mobile I use locally.

At MBK can they copy/clone a sim card.

I did a search on Google and it seems it's popular now in India.

Another question ..... are there USB sim card readers available? It seems that I saw something like this in an airport shop a year or so ago.

the software that came with it only talks about contacts and ringtones ,reading and writing .

I have not had much of a play with it yet but I will be looking online for some more software to do more interesting things with it.

You will need to know IMSI and Ki codes of every simcard that you want to make backup. IMSI and Ki codes are the codes that identify a simcard at your network provider, this codes are encrypted at your original simcard.

See this site for more details.

I don't know it now, but a few years ago it was difficult to hack the card and write it new.

A mate in slovenia showed me his card, which contains 4 phone numbers of 2 or 3 phone companies. When he turned on the phone, he got a menue where you can select with which sim info you start.

Thats nice because you can have your Thai, German and USA sim on one Simcard.

I guess it is illegal. And if you copy the sim the phone company might don't like if your sim logs in twice....

If anyone manages this in Thailand please let us know.

It would be very useful.

Better thah changing SIMs every time.

There was an item in the news today saying that they plan to auto-shutoff (by not providing roaming service) any foreign sim card not previously registered with Thai authorities.

Isn't it REALLY ILLEGAL? guys, common, sim card is identifier of network cell you're using, sort of access key to network with certain ammount of entrances.

Altering it - Dulpicating, copying, re-writing - is completely illegal, sorry they don't print it on card.

for those who disagree - please send me credit card reader/writer, for research reason only :o

Credit card reader writers (mag strip reader / writers) are not illegal and can be purchased.. I strongly suspect copying your own card may not be illegal.

Copying someone elses card may not be illegal.

Stealing money from someones account by copying thier card would be illegal.

Similar with Sim cards, I strongly doubt that the copying itself is illegal, using copied sims to attempt to steal airtime of course is.

Any network would (I imagine) have an immediate drop of an account if it detected 2 devices with the same number on the network at any time...

He sits in a small shop in Maribour, Slovenia.

But even I can guarantee that he is a honest person, I don't think someone feels good sending the sims to slovenia for copying, or?

I tried already to invite him to Thailand, but he does not get allowance from his wife :o

sure it is illegal, very illegal!

But it does not matter!

Half of the Pan Thip Placa is illegal

In Thailand there should be no Porno or Prostitution, because it is illegal.

Some countries have a absolut corrupt politician(of course I am not speaking about Thailand :o )

Here were are talking about copying 2 or 3 of our own sims together on a blank one, it is more like driving 90 km/h if only 80 are allowed....

Well I did a google search myself, and the first site I clicked on offeres blank sim cards and 2 different card writers.

One with a cd and usb that *only says* it does basic stuff, hint hint

And another disguised as a *keychain* (GENIOUS) that will clone the cards

But, the keychain thing is cheaper anyway.

Here's the link:

Found another...

But it looks way more fun :o

The one I purchased from panthip was a USB device , but I would venture that the serial device pictured above might well be more fun.

Its not just sim cards which have that pin configuration to connect to a IC .

an fk ezine I read a while ago had the pinouts for other types of cards , though for protection many have a "fuse" which can be blown if the card is written to without due care and attention.

:o:D:D

For anyone still interested in this, you can't copy modern simcards because the key cannot be cracked. However if you still have a version 1 sim card which is about 7 years old, then the key can be cracked with software like woroscan or simscan. You need a sim writer like the Infinity USB unlimited and a silver card. If anyone is interested you can PM me and I can send you a document on how to do this.

Doesn't Dejan K have software that can clone the card?

Did anyone read the 1st post…. Or have I read it wrong?

You need 2 SIM cards with the same details on right ?

Last year when I needed another SIM card I was then with 'AIS' and had a air card for the laptop, right pain to keep taking the SIM card out of my phone to use with the laptop……. I spoke to 'AIS' in Central Plaza, and they made me a 2nd SIM card…….. FREE of charge

So is it or is it not possible to clone a sim card that uses a KI algorithm using COMP128V2?

Are all these places just doing V1 cards then?

Which simcard reader/writer have you found works?

I just came back from IT Square and they sell a generic chinese kind that's transparent plastic bulky at the back and the sim card slots in not from the back but from the side. 320 thb. I'm guessing 250 thb might be possible.

Anybody used this one?

Is the SIM-MAX one available at Panthip? 12 in 1 sim card?
