Just been reading the lastest ' Samui Express ' and seen a article at the back about 'Nigels BBQ' offfering christmas dinner delivered to your door for 6000 baht . I have seen a few advertisements in other ' samui ' magazines about Nigels BBQ. I am trying to find out weather it is worth making a booking . I have been told he used to have a resturant on the island ( does he still have a resturant on the island ? ) but i have never tasted his food. So can anyone tell me about there experiences with him and the whole package ? Please tell me any good things or bad things but please be honest and not make stuff up that is not ture.

I don't know if Nigel had a restaurant here. I have only had experience with him and his food where he has "catered" at events and homes, he brings the food and bbq there. I think his food is very very good :) No idea about his Christmas dinner and I will not be on Samui then, but based on my experience, your THB 6000 will be very well spent. Nigel is also quite a nice guy. He will do you right.

We, my neighbours and I, have had a BBQ two times with Nigel. The food was excellent, the service very good and he is a fun guy.

He brings everything: BBQ, plates, forks, knives, everything you need. Afterwards we only had to clean the glasses.

I don't know if it is like this with the Christmas meal but I can certainly recommend him.

he did have a restaurant up until a couple of years ago, my guess is the closing was more of a locational thing than a food thing as each of the several times i ate there his food and the atmosphere were good. i've also been to several of nigel's catered dinners and the man knows how to cook. hel_l one look at the guy and you can tell he loves his food :)

Best bbq's i know of on the island. He did have a restaurant but closed due to location but food was always good. I'm sure he'll do a great xmas dinner and you won't go short...he loves his food!

Well, in the interest of full disclosure, Nigel doesn't like me very much for some reason. I've got no problem with him that I know of. That said, I had his Thanksgiving dinner a couple years ago and it was one of the two best I've had since the early 1990's. I've had his cooking a few other times at various places at it's very, very good. No wonder he's the size he is. :) My only question about the 6000 baht would be how many people is it intended to serve?

Been to one of his BBQ's for a property launch and also went on a Yacht for the day that he catered for. Both occasions the food was really good. Loved his Tangy sauce for his spare ribs and the Chicken cooked with a Beer can!

He is a really nice guy and loads of fun and so happy to explain to you about how he cooks his food etc.

Never tried a Christmas dinner from him yet but I would guess it will be great.

As good as his food is he is a BBQ specialist. For a PROPER Xmas dinner cooked just how you like it you would be better going for a Big Joes Turkey. Ready cooked, fully stuffed with his special stuffing and 15 stuffing balls with veg for half the price and I bet you don't get parsnips with Nigels :D:D Ordered mine yesterday :) Have a good one all :D
