Sorry, I have another question regarding the tourist visa. (actually there are so many different statements in the forum that I'm really getting confused..)

Do I always have the possibilty to get a 30 days extention for the tourist visa at the immigration office?? (so 60 days visa + 30 days extention..)

Free of charge or 1900 Baht for the 30 days extention??

Thnks a lot

Any extension is officially up to the immigration officer, but yes you can get a 30 day extension without any problems. The extension is not free, and will cost 1,900 baht plus a passport photo.

you may be able to get the 30 day visa exeption on arrival and then use your 60 day visa as an extension and this would cost you nothing, not 100% on this but others may be able to tell you

You can not activate a tourist visa inside Thailand. You could request not to use the tourist visa on arrival but that will be up to the officer to decide. If he allowed a 30 day visa exempt you then could leave country/return using the tourist visa for 60 day stay and then extend for 30 days.

Absolutely Right, however, just make sure to use the second entry before the expiry date (Use By......)

I was just talking to a visa specialist from a big international law firm about the tourist visa.

she told me for example in Penang or Vientanne I can get as many tourist visas in a row as I want, there is no limit!

of course this is for now/for the moment, we/you never know, when they going to change regulations again..!

Its always 60 days + option of extention for 30 days at immigration office. (1900 Baht)

In Vientiane you can even get a double entry tourist visa, (2 x 60 day entries and each entry can be extended by 30 days).

Some people receive warning stamps that they can not apply for another tourist visa.

Both Penang and Vientiane have been refusing to issue tourist visas in selected cases recently so whatever law firm provided that information got it wrong.
