New Tarmac Is Great But...

Featured Replies

Yes we have nice new tarmac.... an improvement to the infrastructure that was LONG overdue! But...

and there always is a bit inst there...

While I don't know about other areas in Samui, but now the drains in Lamai are starting to collapse completely! Big gaping holes on the roads where the drains once were... it looks like they havne't been able to hold up the weight of the traffic, and I'd say most, if not all, have begun to collapse. while a couple have gone completely.

due to that, yes the roads are even more dangerous than before!

Maybe the hospitals were sending out some demolition troups? :)

One was collapsed near Buddy's the other day, and had dropped about 10", someone had stuck a branch in it vertically to flag it up for bike riders, has been repaired now but makes you think what the drain covers are resting on??.

If u had hit this one on a bike u would have gone arse over tit for sure, and then landed on your head. :)

Was in Thai Inter over the weekend with a Friend who was in a Motor Bike accident through no fault of his own on Sunday morning, anyway the Nurse in there mentioned to him that since that Tramac has been laid, they are getting anywhere up to 40% more Motor Bike related accidents in the Hospital, scary really..

Compared to before tarmac or last high season. thinking.gif
