New Avatar Doesn't Show

A few hours ago I changed my avatar and is also shows up on the page where you have to change it but it doesn't show on the normal web pages ???

Am I doing something wrong ?

Size is OK, pixels OK, photo OK etc.

It appears OK on: Edit Avatar Settings but not on the topic pages.

NO, that's the one I wish to replace with another avatar and the latter shows in Edit Avatar Settings just fine but not next to my messages.

I tried multiple times and did so before but the function seems not to be working now (anymore?).

I noticed SBK changed her avatar recently and MiG16 as well I believe so the function must have been working for the Ladies.

To be more precise:

* The uploaded (own) file avatar is 90x80 pixels and shows fine since it says: Your Current Avatar: my new avatar

* and is not larger than 64kB; it is in fact 52,8 kB and 674x600 pixels in the original photo.

have you tried to clear your browser cache and then actually log out from TV?

then log in again and make a refresh with CTRL+F5.

No, sorry, I didn't. I need help to do so since I'm not really good in these things.

Thanks for the tip. I just logged out and in again, cleared the new avatar and re-uploaded but no success ...so maybe that clearing cache subject is the cause of the problem.

The lion shows on both the forum topics page and on your profile page. 90% of the time it is due to a cache problem and it never failed me to use CTRL+F5 to update the avatar. Just did it on your profile page and the lion still shows. Give us an idea what the new avatar is supposed to be so we know what to look for as the change. BTW your personal photo shows pandas.

There are two different kinds of cache, server-side and client-side. If clearing your browser cache does not work (which I doubt it will when we all see the lion) it may be a server-cache issue. I don't know how the specifics are for the cache for thaivisa's servers, but it could be why it's happening. I know that for example the stylesheets are cached for quite a while server-side.

The strange thing is that I easily uploaded the 4 pandas in the Personal Photo;

SO...IF it is a cache problem (don't know how to handle and "repair" that problem), why would the uploading of the personal photo be so easy ?

4. Maybe member d0ndela is right and being a possible fault on Thaivisa's server.

5. I wish to add another (possible) server problem on TV's side and that is sending copies via PM's; I wrote about that problem quite some time ago but I forgot and it was never repaired so to speak.

A. PM-message to recipients name XXXXX with a copy to: Other

B. If I click "Other" I see below "Other" first a line with ---------------------------- and than 13 names of Super Mods and other members.

C. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of those names and send the same PM to someone else, whether a Mod or a member! The 13 names remain where they are, already since a long, long time.

So, I can only conclude that some functions DO work and others not. Is that a correct assumption ?

UPDATE - AVATAR PROBLEM SOLVED:

I sent my wife the PANDA photo and she installed/stored the photo in/on her website and than sent the URL to me which I copied and put it in the URL of Thaivisa.

Job done!

I'm having the same problem. I changed my avatar, and the new one shows on my profile page, but not elsewhere. It's under 64K and measures 80x80. I have cleared the browser cache, doesn't show up. The old one is Dave Navarro. The new one is a drawing of a guy wearing glasses. Thanks.
