Can anyone please help me with this.

I plan to travel to Thailand staying not exceeding 34 days from Australia.

I looked on the Sydney Thai Consulate website,I cannot understand it,it sys u need a tourist visa not exceeding 30 days, but on another page it says 60 days?

Do I need a tourist visa if staying 34 days?

I really dont have time to go there to the consulate and start applying, filling out forms etc.

Can anyone hlp me with this?

If you don't have the time to get to a Thai Consulate before you travel there are other options.

With a ticket out you can get a 7 day extension at an immigration office in Thailand. Cost is 1900 baht.

You could also do a border run and get a further 15 days. Perhaps you'll be somewhere close to a border during your stay and it wouldn't be inconvenient for you. Unless you plan to travel to a neighboring country as part of your trip the cost of a border run will be about the same as an extension and the waste of a day.

Yes Thankyou,by the 7 day extension am i still able to enter Thailand if my return ticket is showing 34 days from arriving?

I am worried i may be turned back when arriviing at the immigration officer at the airport notices my return tickheet is in 34 days later?

If I dont have a visa, will they still let me through?

Can i apply for the extra 4 days whilst in Thailand?

Be advised that the airline might refuse you to board the plane without a ticket out within 30 days or a proper visa.

Yes you can get an extension for 7 days within Thailand at Immigrations for 1900 baht.

Get a tourist visa before travel, they are free at the moment.

Thai immigration requirements are that you should hold a valid visa or be in possession of a outbound airticket within 30 days of arrival. Without either you run the risk that your airline may refuse to allow you to board the flight. Your easiest option is to apply for a tourist visa at consulate in your country before you travel. As said, they are free until 4th March 2010 and will give you 60 day permission to stay on entry.

Without a visa or an outbound airticket within 30 days, your chances of being uplifted by an airline out of Australia are nil. Get your ticket changed to a return date in less than 30 days of arrival.
