Depends where you are, if in Pattaya, go to immigration in Jomtien, pay the ransom of 1,900Baht, be treated like dirt, and well, Bob's yer uncle. No idea about Bangkok. :)

Bangkok pretty much the same. Go to the new Immigration Dept. at Chaing Wattana, building "B", tell the info desk you want a 7 day visa extension. B1900. Bring 1 visa photo. Save time by getting a copy of your main passport page and the visa page/entry card before you go.

Getting there is half the fun.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but he will be overstaying for 5 days, so if he is in Bangkok it will hardly be worth the time to go to Immigration, will it ? I went there today and taxis, train etc cost about 500 baht. If he overstays by 5 days the fine will be 500 baht per day.

The math is the same, only he will waste half a day going to Immigration.

Er........you CAN pay the fine at the airport on the way out, can't you ?

Latindancer, the math might be the same but atleast doing it honestly one wont gain any unwanted stamps in their passport, not to mention the nightmare if the OP got picked up by the police or immigration before the departure flight.

The best way is always to stay legal. While overstay is an option, it is also a risk. Especially when you live in hotels, where the register your details and send them to immigration.
