What is the proper procedure if someone has a Non Immgrant B Visa that is 1 week old.

Then returns back to Thailand to find they've been fired and no work permit has been attached to the B Visa.

You'll have to clarify that!

If you have been fired means you had a work permit?

A 1 week old visa (not an extension based on work) and yet you already left Thailand?

Clarification,

I have not been working yet. I was hired 2 weeks ago, then I was given my papers to apply for my non-immigrant B Visa.

Then, I left the country to apply for and receive my B Visa.

When I returned, I was told that the company was no longer in need of my services, Fired.

That is good news.

If I find a new job before my 90 days expires, can I use this B Visa for a work permit or will I have to leave the country and apply for a new one?

I'm in a similar position. I was hired by a company in BKK while I was in Canada and applied and was given a 1 year non-b visa. However on arrival here I was told the position was no longer available. Now I'm coming up to my first 3 month term. Can I exit and return to the Thailand with the same visa? Will my visa still be valid for the year or is it voided because I don't have a work permit? Do I need a re-entry permit?

TIA

Your multiple entry Non-B visa is not tied to your employment. You should do a border run before your current permission to stay expires and you will receive a new 90 day permission to stay on re-entry. You do not need a re-entry permit. Do a final border run before you visa expires and you will be stamped in for a further 90 days, streching your visa to nearly 15 months. Whilst your existing visa is valid, you can use it to support any later work permit application.

Is a 1yr non B automatically given as multiple entry, or does this have to be requested ??

You can apply for either single entry visa (good for 90 days permission to stay on entry) or multiple entry visa (valid for 12 months, but permission to stay 90 days on each entry) as long as you can provide the papers the consulate requires to issue. Is up to you.
