Maybe you asked too much.

reliable AND independent AND registered.

Does anybody know any business that has all three. :o

Haha, maybe you're right, but still; nobody does any translations with all kinds of official papers Thai/English?

Or do you do that in BKK?

Did all my offical translation (wedding cert, house papers etc) in Bangkok on Wireless road near the British Embassy, as far as I know there isn't a recognised translation service on the island (but could be wrong) Sorry :o

Thanks for the reply, Boo!

Would be a good idea for someone to invest in a small office, hire some good translators from BKK, supply them with 'housing' and make some money...what?

Low risk!!!

Don't forget about the Chinese...coming soon!

Bringing this old topic back up ...does anyone know if a recognised translation service now exists on Samui.I need to get my daughters birth certficate translated from Thai into English so as to obtain a British passport in Bangkok.I realise I can do this in Bangkok but just trying to get some of the work out of the way in advance as my time is limited and I have other business requiring all sorts of document /paper work while I'm there.

If no good in Samui maybe someone was happy with a translation provider they used in bkk?

Also passport photo's-did I see a booth in Tesco's?...where else can I get these on the island??

Thank you for any advice.

Bringing this old topic back up yet again :o

I am also looking for a registered official translator as I need to translate some docs for the MFA. So, I thought I'd ask, brizzle, how did it go? Did you end up using the recommended translation agency?
