If you mean motorbike, there are many. You will see them for sale around the island. Check out the classifieds here on Thaivisa . If you mean an actual moped (a motorized bicycle) I may have seen one or two in Thailand before. Doubtful you will find one for sale.

Do not use the big Honda shop by the Bophut traffic lights, despite a hassle free sales process I have still not received the ownership book (6 months now) for my 2nd hand Honda Click, everytime I go in they are extremely rude, girlfriend even walked out because they were disrespectful so much, then they lost copies of passport/WP etc..

Also, the second hand bike I purchased had 4200 something miles on the clock, not bad I thought, I took it home and noticed that it wasn't ticking over i.e. it was static at 4200, anyway straight back the shop, they fixed it, but reset it to 3000 miles, so dont trust any mileage?

Im just gonna take the invoices etc.. to Nathon and sort myself now (and the small cost0, bloody inconvienence as this was promised to be included and pick up from the shop a few weeks later when I purchased the bike.

I visit my house in Samui 3 times a year - so thought Ok I'll buy a second hand click - easy done and green book obtained

from a dealer who now for some reason only sells cars

Fancied having a top box fitted - so went along to the Honda shop by the Bophut traffic lights and got great service. Fitted it free and were not rude at all

I did ask them to look at the mileometer which was stuck at 4000 - they simply took the speedo apart and with the help of some wd40 it works again - however, they could have changed the number no problem if I had asked!

If you are like me and a regular returning 'guest' to the island - it is useful to have a foot pump - as the tyres seem to go flat after 3 months. So far though - it has always started on the electric start

We buy 2nd hand bikes from Springer at the first turning into Chaweng coming from Lamai. They arrange all the sign over of paperwork & send it off for you & we have never in 12 years dealing with them had a problem. They also buy bikes back off of us when we have had to leave for long periods.
