Macadamia Nuts

Featured Replies

I would like to grow some macadamia trees, have searched thru the forum and see they are being grown in Thailand but have not found any info on how to source seeds, small trees or whatever it takes. Any info highly appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

Macadamia trees are grown commercially here in the LOS, at Doi Tung (I think).

Have seen young plants for sale here in Chiang Mai, at the main plant market (next to Tesco Lotus on the Super Highway)

Thank you- great reason for a trip to CM

:)

There is a commercial macadamia grower (German expat) who lives in Chiang Mai, his orchards are (I forget the name of the area) between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. I've met him; pm me if you want his contact information. don

Maybe Doi Wawee(sp)? We heard about Macadamia being planted there back in '97 and tried to make a trip up there .. during the rainy season .. cannot! :)
