I have a group of soi dogs which live outside my house and I would like to get them spayed to stop the breeding cycle. Does anyone konw of a vet that will do low cost neutering for stray dogs?

You're in BKK right?

I think it's best to contact SCAD or ThaiAGA. They may be able to direct you in the right direction.

Hi Yes I'm in Bangkok. Sorry should have said that. I have already contacted SCAD as they came out to my soi a few months ago to round up and neuter a group of soi dogs. 2 of the dogs were pregnant at the time so they could not take them. I am trying to see if they will now spay the two bitches as their puppies are about 2 1/2 moths old now. I said that I would try to get the puppies neutered myself, if I can find a low cost vet to do it (there are about 9 of them!). I already asked SCAD, but they haven't answered me, so am trying to find out for myself.

I will try Thai AGA and see if they can help.

As Nienke said, try getting in touch with SCAD . . . www.scadbangkok.org

I'm not getting any response from either SCAD or AGA regarding my question about a vet that does low cost spaying for strays. Can anyone give me the name of a vet that does this?

many thanks

Karen

Your other option is:

Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University

Henri-Dunant Rd., Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand.

Tel.+66(0) 2218-9771,3 Fax.+66(0) 2255-3910

Lots of people go here for treatment for their pets or injured soi dogs as they are a teaching hospital and charge next to nothing for the treatments. My rescued soi dog has bad knees and I was quoted 70,000 baht+ per leg to get him fixed up, Chula did it for 3,500 baht each leg! :)

They are all great people there, care for the animals and do a wonderful job.

Give them a shout.

Thanks Tats. I will try Chula. Ihave actually now heard back from SCAD, and they have been very helpful and think they can neuter of the puppies next week. At least that will be some of them taken care of.
