Ok, Last December i was issued a 1 year Multi-O based on marriage from NY

On the Visa in my passport is says:

Date of Issue = 22 Dec 2008

Enter Before = 21 Dec 2009

Then on next page is my 1st entry stamp on Feb 22 2009 (since then i exited as needed / no overstays etc)

SO I went to immigration for my final stamp in last tuesday and the kind fellow advised me my Visa had expired on the Enter Before date = 21 Dec 2009 even

circling it in pen and would only give me 15 days!

Anyways I thought the 1 year started when you entered the country and got your first stamp????

Can someone clarify?

Thanks, appreciate

If you are married to a Thai you can get a 60 day extension if needed from immigration for 1,900 baht (like any other extension).

Don't need to show any income for this, basically turn up with the wife and the marriage certificate and you're OK.

You want to go to KL with copy of wife id card as well as marriage certificate and proof of 100k in bank account. I would also take copy of her home register and a shot note from her asking for the visa to be issued.

Thanks Lopburi, your a great guy helping on here for so long!

A couple questions for you:

-As for the 100K does it have to be in a thai bank and all I show is the bank passbook to KL immigration?

-How many empty pages in my passport for them to give me the Visa? I am thinking 2, as the visa will take 1 full page and 1 more page

to get stamped back in or is there some other rule?

-Is there a KL Visa service that can do all the running around for me, pick me up at airport etc? I cant seem to find in previous posts.

Thanks again!

They used for be flexible on the money but believe it is rather firm at 100k level and in a Thai account so they can read it. The visa will take a full page and you still have to exit Malaysia and enter Thailand.

I have not seen any visa service mentioned - travel agencies can normally only obtain tourist visas.

OK Lopburi, thanks for the quick reply!

This really blind sided me and I am busy super this week trading to get this all straight so my plan now is to fly over to Phnom Penh

this weekend for 3 days, grab some cold beers and some hot CamGs then fly back and get a fresh 30 days to prepare for the KL trip.

When i get back i will also head up to BKK/US Embassy and get extra passport pages before going to KL.

Wish me luck!
