You will need to obtain Non-B visa from consulate abroad, and within the region will have to show Form WP3 receipt from labour office (confirming application made for work permit) to the consulate as part of the visa application papers (see link provided by PoorSucker). Your employer will therefore need to apply for your work permit at the labour office before you apply for your Non-B visa. Once your Non-B visa is issued, the labour office will need to see your passport showing the Non-Immigrant visa before they will issue the work permit. Will be single entry visa first time around, but can obtain multiple entry visa later when work permit is available (or alternatively obtain extension of stay based on employment from Thai immigration if you meet the requirements). KL would be a good place to go.
