Jack Golf You Done It Again

Recommended Posts

Done a visa run today (6 February) with Jack Golf, departure at around 5 am, arrival around 8.45am to Poipet.

We went to have something to eat at the Tropicana and at 10 am everyone ready for departure.

We wait over 45 minutes and I hear from two sources the problem come from a very busy emigration, at 11 am we got back passports, pass in front of the emigration where all was quiet, then we went to the car park.

At this time the staff told us the Super Express VIP bus at broken down, after waiting for 15 minutes with no clear & definitive answer, supposedly we will get back with minivans, no time was given when I ask how long approximate. I ask if anyone will share a taxi with me for Bangkok & 2 peoples said ok and the three of us left.

What I did not like from this company are

.The emigration where no busy and you put the blame on them for the first delay.

.If we know this problem early it will have save us some time back to Bangkok (me with the taxi)

.It is not the first time it happen

.No excuse was given and a bad look from the lady staff when I call for a taxi ride!

.Very evasive reply about the delay for the minivans

.I will like to hear from other people how long they did wait and what was the quality of the trip back.

Will try another company next time

Can anyone recommend a better train company I can use next time?

If you do it on your own, then it's much easier to find someone to blame if <deleted> happens.

Went straight over the head that time. :D

You'll never go wrong with a good piece of Honda, my friend! :)

:) I have used Jack Golf a number of times and found them to be very reliable. Things break down.

That being said // First Saturday of the month is the biggest gambling day in Poipet .. meaning that there may honestly have been 2 issues. One. immigration was slow.

Two. When it was time to leave the bus had problems.

Please understand that I do have a card up my sleeve, in that I always make an habit of leaving on the day before from my usual cave, so as to arrivbe in Chanthaburi the morning before the day the visa expires, and give the little Honda a rest for the night. Then I get going at 07:00 the next morning, and the only visa-run minibuses I ever see are o-n my way back. If you can get to the border at 09:00, there's no rush, and you'll be in and out of Cambodia in 30 minutes.

Sounds to me like the OP is not pissed with a broken down van but the fact that the staff couldn't or wouldn't just be honest about the problem. I'm sure if the staff had said we are sorry but the van has broken down and another will be here in an hour then he would of been happy.

I must wholeheartedly agree with the o.p. and have the utmost empathy for the poor dear. Why, only last week, upon boarding the number 2 bus at Sanam Luang I discovered only too late that all the seats were taken and yet the lady conductor was still allowing people to board! How one is supposed to reach soi nana in such discomfort Heaven only knows and to top it all the driver could not even tune the blasted radio in order to catch the cricket results. Had the afore mentioned conductor offered me a cup of Darjeeling to ease the discomfort I certainly would not have felt so hard done by but it is too late now, for I plan to complain to the Ministry about this, oh yes.

Next time book a minibus from the same company as the op.......you will travel in style......and apparently have plenty of time for many cups of your favourite Darjeeling......I guess he will pass on the contact number.....just ask.. :)

Sorry but GROW UP!!!!

This is Thailand. Things like this HAPPEN. I would suggest if you cannot spare the time to wait then you obviously have the wrong visa as a tourist has no real commitments ?GET A PROPER VISA before complaining

you made a funny post, what visa should i get ?

do you think i am a backpaker doing a visa run for 1 month ? well that do not happen in Poipet, people who go there have a visa.

Proper visa? off course I have a proper visa, I have a 1 year O multi entry every year for the last 12 years, but that do not stop the 90 days visa run, last time I went to Singapore, the time before to Vietnam.

I think you bit rude to tell me what I should do, and what I am doing is not right.

I have a good relationship with my Thai consulate, and only showing my financial asset liability permit me to get a 1 year O at the age of 40 when I did retired until now.

Anything else you want to tell me about Thailand? And how i need to behave myself? I know very well the company doing visa run and not afraid to pinpoint a bad service.

Jack Golf, did not do the right thing today, and it is knowledge the VIP bus breaking down often

time to wait, hahaha, no i did have a friend at home looking after my dog and plan for dinner, do not truth a minivan out the blue !

That is what I will like to see, it is a Saturday but emigration were no busy, we wait one hour extra waiting to be call. when i got my passport (i have the old passport with the 1 year visa and the new one I done two month ago), Jack golf did mix a different passport in my folder, correction where done after 5 minutes.

When we arrive at car park, now we heard the news about the broken bus, no clear solution and time frame where given.

taxis were available and i took this solution, if people like jack golf i do not stop them using this company.

it is not the first time i see them lying. 3 years ago, they mention to have special connection on the border, when the imigration got a kick in the ass, jack golf custumers where doing all the queue for stamps / visa / cambodia and thailand ! why they went to Ban Leam

Smell like jack golf on the lookout, you post is your first! You must have a good knowledge with Thailand and life here, i do not take bus or motorbike in Bangkok, if you like to have a stroll in sanam luang / balhumpu it is good, bit of fresh air there.

Soi nana, i do not patronage this place as well, your cup of tea, not mine.

And the rest of your post are plain stupid

If you are fed up with the visa run companies then why not take one of the many private buses that work in conjunction with the Casinos?

The one i used stopped to pick up passengers at various shopping places (mainly carrefours) around BK and stops on the Thai side at the markets. Its easy enough to have the immigration papers ready and do it yourself..

The only hassle is getting to and from the Camb imm office (at the large roundabout in town) without getting swarmed on by touts.

Watch for the guys in fake uniforms (they even have fake ID with photo) trying to tell you they work for immigration. They buzz around you like flies and will follow you around all the way from the bus door.

Best to just ignore them and smile and make out you cant understand them. On my first time I made the mistake of letting one of the bast€rds fill in my entry card and they then tell you that you need to pay them an extra 500 baht tax because you are getting a 1 day visa.. :)

The good news is the trip costs 300 baht and includes an all you can eat meal voucher at a casino.

If you stay the whole day and get the same bus back there is no extra charge.

Ive found it best to invite a thai friend to make a few calls and organise the pickup point and shout them for the day :D

Next time I will try another visa run company, but they live later in the day.

I am strongly against gambling and offcourse will not take offer for a free ride or low cost ride from one of this casino, many place to go in Asia, just need to plan bit better next time.

I can see you done your home work for Cambodia; they are a top post from someone with clear detail explanation and picture regarding visa run Cambodia, but i do not have time to look a search now.

I had problems with Jack Golf on a 60 day visa renewal in early January. 1st problem was guide would not answer his phone in Poipet. 2nd was we were supposed to leave early on the 3rd morning but was delayed until 7pm. We had to leave rooms after 1pm and wait around, they would only provide a voucher for a bowl of rice. 3rd they provided no information other than it was delayed (supposedly due to Thai embassy in PP), they told us to meet them in hotel lobby at 1pm and the guides did not show up. It took repeated calls to BKK and another 1 hour delay before they showed up. 4th - when we finally left at 7pm they took us back in Mini vans ( I took this tour because I like big buses not mini vans) and put us out on the freeway outside of BKK to make our way home! I'm sure they hired mini vans because it was cheaper. 5th - I tried to contact (Korean) owner to complain a month ago and have not heard from him only staff saying he is not available.

Others in the group had used Jack Golf many times before and said up to this point had never had a problem, my experience was far from satisfactory. It's one thing to have a mechanical breakdown but a series of issues with no customer service or follow up tells me to look elsewhere next time.

Using any of the other well known visa run services, like the ones which goes to the Ban Laem border instead of the armpit of Cambodia; Poipet, will save a lot of headache. There is a guy who runs one that leaves from the Baanrai coffee shop at the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 63 around 9-9:30AM. I've taken it and had no problems ever.

Conversely for the do it yourself adventuring types; show up at Lumpini Park around 4-5AM and catch any one of the MANY casino busses lined up there going to Poipet which are hauling the thai gamblers out there every day. Having done this route before, I have found buying a one way ticket from them is better, because if you're not going to gamble, you can catch another bus back right away rather than wait until later to ride back to BKK on your original bus.

The person who runs Jack’s Golf (Song Ji Hoon; Mr. Jack) is certainly no stranger to the ‘visa run’ service. Having done it the number of years, and with the number of customers they ferry to and fron the border there is NO excuse for shoddy service and /or no explanation from the staff when there is a glitch. As his staff ONLY deals with foreigners, I find the marginal customer service disconcerting.

I’d certainly call his number or show up in “Little Korea” on the corner of Soi 12 and see what complaining gets you. Maybe you’ll get a discount on your next trip, maybe you’ll be unceremoniously thrown off the 3rd level of “Little Korea” where their office is; I dunno. :D

Good Luck :)

It is nice to see I have supporters, instead of people to tell me to get a life! Or people with a first post calling me poor dear, talking about green bus, no standing room and a cup of tea, all along with nice music! But I let them using this type transport, I do not personally !

I am sure Jack Golf’s owner knows about this web board, some posts must be via them anyway

Voucher / discount are not the point, honesty / transparently are, yes the link you give is the one I have in mind! Just did like the early departure.

I try many companies during my 12 years in Thailand, Jack Golf use to ok, when they running the two bus into Poipet, time have change!

The OP obviously has a gripe with Jack Golf .

I was on that same bus and no one complained about the brief wait for the passport return or the wait for the bus.

The OP has tried to discredit Jack GOLF for no real apparent reason and therefore the post should be considered as trolling.

OMG , you had to wait 15 min for the bus to return so you could board.

Your in Thailand , and of coarse the staff would take insult on the request for a taxi. You obviously do not understand thai culture and you expect everything to be exactly to your liking.

Well , guess what, it ain't gunna happen.

As a thaivisa administrator , I would delete your post as you are trying to discredit the company based on non-factual information.

Please take another bus next time and see how it goes.

:)
