Best Bar / Places To Have A Drink On The Island

Where do people think the best bars / places to have a a drink on the island are ? I would say in

Lamai : - Tropicana

Chewang : - The Islander

Bangrak : - Premier Sports bar ( i would say the best on the island at the moment )

BBC near big budda is always is alwasy a good place for food and drinks to.

What do other people think ?

Before anyway says it. No i dont own 1 or all 4 of these places.

Been around for ten years now and lived here over four years.

Never been to the places mentioned.

To many tourists.

Could name the best places, but I'm also in conflict of interests.

Before I got married I have been to one of screamingeagles bars, I can recommend that.

2 bars in South Chaweng, A biker bar and a girlie bar. Next to each other. So you make a choice: "heels" or "Wheels"!! Not the name of the bars BTW

I think i no where you mean. Near to a Swiss resturant ? I always just thought that there was one girly bar there and was alwasys wondering why there was so many big bikes out side now i know. Always looks busy so you must be doing a good job. Not been there yet. Would love to go and check it out but i am not really into bikes and i dont know what the wife would make of it if she found out i had been to have a look. haha

It depends upon what you think constitutes a good bar. If you're looking for a place to drink imported draft beers, debate ales with old coots, and run up a big bill, then Tropical Murphy's is probably the best. But if you're looking for a place to have tits waved in your face that wouldn't be the place to go. If you want a place that lets you have lively banter with the bargirls while you drink Singha and they drink Bacardi Breezers, there's a quite a few of those places but they change quickly due changes in staff.

I don't consider any of the OP mentioned "Bars" a Bar!

The "Islander" is a tourie trough, watering hole, very close to Solo Pub only serving a different clientele, but the clientele of SOLO, will be found in places like Islander years from now!

The Place in Bang Rak... well..

I consider the "Indian Bar" @ Chaweng Beach, opposite Ko Matlang a Bar, because it got style, not this imported Pub feeling, got this back home - isn't why I came here.

And "Hendrix" got something, so has "Dutchie" Bar and sure yeah.. near the Lake.. and of course already mentioned Honey Bar, Mojito Bar in Fishermens Village is pretty nice too, the "Happy Bar" way up on the Main Rd. Mae Nam... in Lamai "The Batcave"?

then who cares , as long as the suds are cold, the drinks are cool and the environment is pretty and friendly, no soccer commentators screaming half the night, no punter has a stiff neck from staring at the Tele all night...I'll consider it a worth while place... where ever, however

Not a girlie bar, only old rock and roll style.
