I have 2 questions

1) I have an Australian passport. I am married to a Thai. I have a 30 day entry stamp from Suvarnabhumi. I want to get a Non-Imm marriage visa. Can I get it from the immigration office in Bangkok (or do I have to go out of Thailand)? What paperwork do I need?

If the answer to question 1 is 'No' ...

2) I have a booked flight to Vientianne before the 30 day entry stamp ends. Do I need a ticket out of Laos before I arrive at Vientianne airport?

thanks in advance!

You have to apply at a Thai Consulate in another country.

Vientienne will issue a single entry giving 90 days.

For a Multi Entry you need to go to KL.

In both cases take Marriage Certificate. Wife's Id Card and Tabbien Baan. Plus a letter from her asking them to issue the Visa.

For a Multi at KL also show a bank account with around 100,000 Baht balance.

If you are asking about a 12 month extension of stay based on your Marriage you can apply at Immigration in Thailand if you meet the financial requirements.

You would need a Non Imm O Visa to start the ball rolling.

From the Immigration Extension requirements.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.
