Background story;

Current Visa B. Applying for O, reason - i dont want my visa tied to my wp as I am thinking of switching companies.

Just found out at Cheang Wattana that I need 400k in my own account. My $$ is in a joint account with the mrs. LAdy At Cheang Wat says just move to my bank account and let it sit for 2months.

I say ok but I will need an extention as my visa expires Feb 23. She says no need as I was just out of the country and on re-entry airport immigration gave me a 90days stamp based on my B visa.

So the question - is she correct??

Visa expiry - FEB23.

Visa stamp from airport - April 23.

When does my visa actually expire?

Assuming you have a multi-entry non-b from a consulate/embassy then you'll get 90 days any time you enter BEFORE the enter before date on the VISA.

The stamp given at the airport is a permit to remain in Thailand until whatever date is stamped, it does not allow you to exit and re-enter.

Your visa expires when it says it expires ..., your permission to stay expires when it says it expires.

(in other words you can re-enter the country the day before your visa expires and get 90 more days, if you enter the day after you get only the days you might be entitled to based on your nationality -- a visa exempt entry as your visa is no longer valid.)

What you are going to do is extend your stay - not your visa - so the important date is April 23 (your permitted to stay until date). So you make new bank account today and return to Immigration after April 11 to obtain your one year extension of stay for family. Don't forget the wife.

FYI: a multi entry non immigrant B visa is not tied to your employment. But as it expires soon be best to do as above and obtain an extension of stay. The thing that would expire is a one year extension of stay for work.
