Blood Work

Featured Replies

I would like to get some blood work done on myself when I'm in Bangkok in a couple of weeks time.

I want to test for vitamin levels specifically B12 and while I'm there I can do additional tests too, maybe Thyroid, Liver and Kidney function, Testosterone and any other common tests which might show abnormalities.

Can anyone recommend where I can get this kind of test done to a good standard.

Any of the big hospitals like Bumrungrad, BNH, Samitivej. Your hotel can point you in the right direction.

Hello UKRules (and Spaniel, thanks for the mention),

You can do the standalone tests, or have a package check-up and add certain tests if they are not included.

You can see our standard check-up packages here:

For the thyroid tests, these are included in the Comprehensive Check-up. But if you don't want to do all of that, you could do the Regular, and add tests from there.

If you did get a Comprehensive Check-up, it will take several hours (e.g. Executive takes about 3-3.5 hours). To optimize your time, I recommend getting in as early as possible (7:30 am may be the best time).

Also, please be aware of a few things before you come for these check-ups:

• Do not eat or drink anything except plain water for at least 9 hours prior to check up. In case of Upper GI X-ray or endoscopy, please keep fasting..

• Please bring along your ID card or passport and arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment time.

• Stool and urine samples will be collected on the day of examination.

• If you have a pre-existing medical condition, please bring along any test results or reports you have for the doctor to review.

If You Schedule a Stress Test:

• Please bring your jogging shoes.

• If you need to eat before the stress test, then eat a light snack only and avoid fatty foods, caffeine, and alcohol.

• If you are under treatment or taking medication for any medical or physical condition, please notify the nurse in advance.

• If you have a history of chest pain or breathing difficulty, please notify the nurse at Health Screening Center in advance.

Instructions for Abdominal Ultrasound:

• Drink plenty of water before the ultrasound exam. The test requires a full bladder for best results. Do not void prior to the ultrasound examination.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
