paying "sin-sot" is something like an old tradition in Thailand. But if you stick to old tradition, you must get the whole package or forget about this shit !!!

In old days, in fact you really bought the wife. You- as the husband - as in all patriarchal societies - has all rights in the family and the wife has to to what you want (by law). There was no way for her to leave you. It was in many ways kind of slavery. And - of course- the wife had to be a virgin (there were/are many advantages for the man (and for the woman!) to be a virgin at the time of marriage! - I don´t want to discuss this now - use your own brain !).
