Anyone had any luck with growing what i shall call "kitchen herbs"......Chives, parsley, dill, sage, thyme, basil, coriander, mint etc?

Not on a commercial basis, but, more of a herb garden type thing.

Rosemary does well in dry Isaan areas. I've seen european basil working really well.

I failed a coriander tryout in Bkk, but will try again with different soil

Mint grows well & spreads quickly here.

2 types of basil grow very easy.

Corriander has been a struggle, but succesful.

Oregano & Rosemary are barely surviving.

I have utterly failed to get Indian Cumin seeds to even sprout.

Apparently there is a grower in Hua Hin who supply Villa super markets with assorted of fresh,

good quality western herbs at a reasonable price, being grown hydroponically i believe,

Mint no problem, Can grow western Basil, but Thai basil much easier & acclimated already. Coriander is easy to grow. Thyme & rosemary very difficult -none growing.Cilantro no problem.Chives easy. A bunch of other Thai spices we have growing , but I have no clue what they are. All very tasty. Dill would most likely grow well here in Bang Saray.

I am a new, expat, come from Belgium.

We want to start new business (chickengrill).

I want to do with a mix of herbs and spices we use in Belgium.

These chicken are a bit spicy, not the same taste as you can eat in Thailand

We bring about 15 kg of these spices in container from belgium, when we moved to Thailand.

I checked for the import of about 200 kg from Belgium, but FDA Thailand have to may rules and

documents, and maybe have to pay about 200% more taxes)

I decided to make my own mix, i can find some spices in BKK, Indian shop, but I need some

spices from Italy (Basil, thyme and savory)

I check on the internet after an adress in Bkk, but did't find.

Does somebodyknow where I can find?

We stay Ayutthaya, come regulary in Bkk

Seems most of the pieces are available.

If each of you producing successfully should consolidate your product under one outlet,

both producer and customer would benefit.

Such a cooperative arrangement would accelerate the production of the missing pieces.

May the best organized win.
