Daihatsu Hijet

Featured Replies

Im interested in getting a Hijet as a runaround/utility for my wife.

After googling Daihatsu Thailand, it seems they are no longer in buisness.

Am I right in thinking you can no longer get a new Hijet ?

Is it being made under a different name by another company ?

What are the Tuk Tuk operators in Phuket using these days ?

If they are no longer available, does anyone have any suggestions for a small cheap utility vehicle,

Only needs to do short trips, Diesel would be a bonus.

Thanks

Suzuki is about 345,000. similar to Hi-Jet but bigger. Plus 17,000 if you want LPG.

I don't know if there is a used market yet for them. I'm very happy with mine.

There are some Chinese trucks in BKK. Slightly smaller than Suzuki and cheaper but much more basic. If you want to drive, Suzuki has a bigger cab if the in-laws will be driving :) Chinese will be OK.

You maybe able to find a used Hi-Jet, so if it is only for short local trips, why not. There is a shop under Phra Khanog BTS that has used engines.
