churchill Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Bangkok Bank has foreign Currency accounts in Euro / GBP / USD
lazygourmet Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Give a try with Siam Commercial. When I was living on the island, I did my Euro transactions with them, but the account was previously opened in Bangkok.
screamingeagle Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 It's easier to keep you cash under the bed! Just about the same interest rate as the banks offer!
BigC Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 bank of ayduya is the best for quick transactions from over seas because they are a western union agent. if someone pas me in the uk sometimes i receive the same day. if nt then the next day. other banks i have had to wait more than 1 week a times.

Samuian Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Resident Baht Account and Foreign Currency Deposit account for non-residentsForeign individual customers can open a bank account with Bangkok Bank. 1. Resident Baht Account 2. Foreign Currency Deposit Account The Foreign Currency Deposit Account is a convenient and flexible way to manage revenues and expenses in foreign currencies and reduces the risk of currency fluctuations when you make international transactions. You can deposit funds in any of these 13 major currencies: * US Dollar (USD) * Euro (EUR) * British Pound (GBP) * Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) * Singapore Dollar (SGD) * Swiss Franc (CHF) * Australian Dollar (AUD) * Canadian Dollar (CAD) * Japanese Yen (JPY) * Danish Krone (DKK) * Norwegian Krone (NOK) * Swedish Krone (SEK) * New Zealand Dollar (NZD) Source: I had the impression that on beach road they aren't very "responsive" Nathon Branch is way more efficient and willing! Wanted to activate VISA on my B1st Card for an overseas trip, been told to call the help center and do it over the internet!
angiud Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Krung ThaI in Samui open accounts i Us $ and Euro. Very low interests, 1% commission on the deposits (!) and some commission on the withdrawals too. So I'll put my euro down my mattress.
