I've never seen the Morrocan style preserved lemons over here, only dried ones. If the place in MBK is the one I'm thinking of, they only sell dried fruit, not lemons preserved in salt. I'd would have thought somewhere along Soi Arab would sell them but I've never looked.

I've often made them myself it's really easy, it just takes two months until they're ready.

Just buy about 10 lemons (most of the lemons here are waxed, so give them a good scrub with a scourer first) then peirce them all over with a fork. Then get 1kg of course sea salt, mix it with a few peppercorns, some cumin and coriander seeds, a broken up a cinammon stick, a couple of dried chillis and a few bay leaves. Pack your lemons in the salt mix and place in a airtight container and wait for 2 months.

You can do a quicker version by adding the salt mix to a litre of water and boil the lemons until they're soft and then leave them for 5 days in the liquid, but they're not as good.
