As the situation stands me and my friend got a 90 day single entry thai visa from our consulate in england

we are currently in thailand and have been for about a month and a half

after this we are moving onto laos then vietnam and cambodia

we then wish to come back through thailand to enter malaysia to then go to singapore to fly home

to my understanding if we use our full 90 day visa we will be unable to re-enter thailand

however if we leave 15-16 days by leaving thailand early will we be able to use these days on a new 15 day land entry visa?

thank you

The visa allows you to come to thailand and enter once and stay for up to 90 days. When you leave you lose any days you didn't use.

You can do two things:

1 buy a re-entry permit. You currently have a stamp in your apssport that says till whatdate you can stay in Thailand. With a re-entry permit that date will remain valid when you leave and re-enter THailand you will be allowed to stay till your current permission to stay ends. It does not add extra days. re-entry permit costs 1,000 baht and pass photo.

2: just leave. if you come back to Thailand by land you will just get a new permission to stay for 15 days max, 30 days if you return by land.

So if we just leave we will be allowed to re-enter the country for 15 days over land even though we have a 90 day visa stamp that is used?

Yes. 15 days by land and 30 days by air, it makes no difference if you had a visa before or not.
