Can any one tell me where I can buy sandpaper, Hobby Tools. Also wood stains in Bangkok.

Home Pro offers a wide range of Sandpaper and also has a good tool section. There are a few hobby shops around Bangkok. There is a good one on Rama 9 before turning left on to Srinakarin. They carry minature railways from Germany and other stuff. Also I do remember 2 other good shops at the JJ Mall around Chatuchak. One of them had a great collection of minature railway engines etc. What is your hobby?

Where ever you are living there will be a shop that sells these items, the most noticeable item they have on sale is blue PVC pipes, just walk in and root around for what you want.

Good quality carving tools such as Xacto knives and similar are not easy to find here. The Thais do some very fine woodcarving but the ones I have seen at work creating large, finely detailed masterpieces use fairly simple chisels and knives. You may want to see about getting such from Europe or the USA. Sandpaper, stains, paints and similar are readily available at HomePro, HomeWorks and the paint stores that seem to be almost everywhere.
