My daughter is here in Chiang Mai on a 60 day tourist visa. She would like to extend it for an additional 30 days. My understanding is that she can do this at the CM Immigration office. Is this correct? If not, how can it be done? I have tried the search function for TV but cannot find this exact situation. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Friendshave done this previously, provided she has a ticket allowing her to stay the extra time, and a few thousand, THB 1,900- if i remember correctly,, should not be a problem.

HOWEVER, there is also no problem in going to ask at immigtration well before hand, they are friendly and cooperative, and will tell you exactly how and when to apply,,

or what to do..ie: maesai trip if required.

not a good idea to wait till the day before it expires ??

If she goes to immigration.. she'll need to go very early in the morning and Q. I hear it takes a while, so bring a book.... I dont now yet. I have yet to do my re entry permit run (next week :); )

Apply at Immigration a few days before her 60 days expire. She does not lose any days by going early.

1,900 Baht and a passport size photo needed.

Moved to Visas.
