BINGO!

This was the long awaited news I've been waiting for. Phnom Penh had started issuing double entry tourist visas at the beginning of last year and then stopped again when they became free in March. Many thought they'd start again when the free period ended. Looks like they were right.

Now they're back in business and people have another option besides Vientiane for double entry tourist visas. Let's see how they treat back-to-back applicants.

I have been coming here for three of four trips now, maybe even five, every three months, as I was receiving single entry before.... Maybe I did get a double entry in the first place a while ago.

I have always received--without questions or requests for additional information, the single entry. And again on this trip for the double, a smile and "Thank you".

Although a free visa would have been nice as well :-)

I will get the visa tomorrow and see how many days before it expires. It has always been 90 days in the past, at least my past. I suspect t will be 90 days from the date that the visa is granted, which usually happens on the day the passport is turned in.

The cost was $70 on the board. I did not ask about other currencies.

With a low dollar, it is nice to be able to use here and get full value without having to convert them into something else and take a low exchange rate.

No request for bank accouts or flights back to or out of Thailand.

A photo and a completed application is all that is required.

Must use the second visa within 90 days of issue

The date of issue was April 5th, the day I turned in my passport.

The second entry into Thailand must be made not later than one day before the "enter before" date stamped on the visa. In other words, forget about the issue date and look at the "enter before" date.

Hopefully the TR visas will be free again from 11 May as stated . ,. , at Phnom Phen . . . . .i will go 12 May . . , can confirm later . . .

Be careful what you wish for. The first time tourist visa became free (March last year) Phnom Phen immediately stopping issuing double entry tourist visas. The first double entry tourist visas I heard of out of there were issued after they started charging again.

If it was me I would go this week.

agree with tropo. last year I booked my flights to Phnom Penh when I read from thaivisa that they are issuing double entries. When I got there the free visa period had started and they were only issuing singles. I didn't go through any agents though.

It may become harder to get even single entry tourist visas during the upcoming free period. Prior to the end of 2008 they weren't interested in helping non-Cambodians at all.

People must realise that neighboring consulates in the SE Asia region are doing people favours when they easily issue tourist visas without any documentation (proof of funds, hotel bookings, return tickets).

For example, even with supporting documentation my Filipino gf couldn't get a tourist visa at her own consulate in Manila, yet she can get one (even double entry) in Vientiane or Phnom Penh with no supporting documentation.

What I'm basically saying is - don't take anything for granted at these Consulates. They can change their policies at a moment's notice.

PP is always a morning dropoff, wait a day and pickup 2nd day afternoon as far as I know

I think people are really intested to know if Phnom Penh is issuing double entry tourist visas right now.

I've never had a double entry tourist visa, do you HAVE to go out once and if so, at the 30 day mark?

I'm coming off several years of a non-imm b and need to come up with something to cover me for a few months.

Thanks.

I didn't think I'd be the one replying to my own post and delivering the good news, but I've just discovered that Filipinos have been getting free double entry tourist visas from Phnom Penh all year.

One "agency" in Pattaya currently organises the whole deal which includes the 4 hour road trip to Poipet plus a night's accommodation in Poipet while the agent gets the double entry tourist visas from the consulate in Phnom Penh, all for only 3,500 baht total. That would be about 1000 more if you need a Cambodian visa. You can't beat that. It's a huge improvement on the expensive visa run I used to do to Vientiane for a double entry.

They were doing this run early last year but stopped when visas became free. I had no idea they had started up again. Now that I've advertised it who knows how long they will continue.

Can someone please update the situation in Phnom Penh regarding tourist VISA's, single and/or double. Thanks.

Option 1. - Trust a Thai agent(Pattaya) who claim you spend two(not one) nights in Poi Pet at a nice casino hotel while the take your passport and get a double, yes, double is the claim, double entry tourist visa.

Option 2. - Fly to PNH and hope for the best. I've read there are agents in PNH as well but never get any replies from people who use one. I think the rumor is always that travel agents in PNH handle it for a small fee but again, don't know if they get double entry or just single.

Thank you in advance.
