jdinasia
Moresomekl --- You start that last post with a lie. "In a democracy..." In parliamentary democracies governments can change without a new general election. That is a fact. The rest is you just trying to support that initial lie. Wrong ... Anyway you dont even know what parlementary democracy means in the vast world , let alone democracy it would seem . Anyway lets conclude this exchange , its boring Ummm again in Parliamentary democracies governments can change without a new election. Small parties can realign and poof --- a new government. To suggest otherwise is simply a lie. I don't think I have seen anyone claiming that. What has been said repeatedly is that when a duly elected government is removed normally Parlimentary governments have held national referendums to select the new government. Do you doubt this? Where is an example? All of the examples provided so far did not involve removement of a duly elected government or involved a coup which in itself is an illegal act. Please stop repeating this ridiculous idea unless you have a real example. Continually repeating it without facts to back it up will not make it true There was no Coup in 2008, a party was disbanded due to electoral fraud. Your other assertions are just wrong ... parliament elects new government --- google is your friend

animatic
Can anyone define a "fake red" ?Is it a red that gets caught following orders? Not wearing a Mao Jacket. Never majored in Leftist PolySci Actually has a mind of his own. IS out to help Thaksin. Thinks Arisman makes perfect sense. A real Redshirt who gets caught embarrassing the red leaaders. Pakboong
Give him a gun and tell him to take the first shot Nobody needs to shoot anybody. There are other methods of dispersing and controlling these people. This whole notion of Thais not hurting Thais is twaddle and a little childish. The country seriously needs to move forward and if this is not dealt with it'll be the same thing over and over again by any group not happy with the system. It might make better sense if we called it not hurting Thais to the benefit of the Chinese.
siampolee
Red emerald Buddha image at Rajprasong rally site breaks into two parts To clarify my post #311 BANGKOK: -- When police officers served arrest warrants for three red-shirt leaders at the Rajprasong Intersection Saturday, the Buddha image table collapsed, causing the red emerald Buddha image of the protesters broke into two pieces. Two police officers from the Metropolitan Police Bureau came to the back of the stage at 11:30 am with arrest warrants and they demanded to see whether Wiputhalaeng Phattanaphuthai, Worapol Prommikabutr and Pramual Chuklom were behind the stage. Protesters then shooed away the two officers. While guards of the red shirts were asking the two officers to leave, a loud noise was heard as the Buddha image collapsed. Guards rushed to cover the broken Buddha image with newspapers and would not allow photographers to take photos. humfurry
Some interesting observations I've just made. I live in on of Bkk's Reddest districts. My wife was watching CSI and I asked her to pause it while I checked TNN. She tossed the remote on the floor and went to sleep upstairs. Then I decided to walk the the local snooker hall (a red hangout) on the way I passed maybe 50 houses... I could see and hear what was on many of their TVs. Thai soaps, cartoons, sports... not one I saw with the news on. Most were just relaxing and having a scotch in their carports. The TV wasn't even on at the snooker hall. I don't know what to make of all this if anything... Thai culture still baffles me.
yoshiwara
The authorities are showing unbelievable restraint. As for the Red's leaders, whenever they lose an attack (most recently, the First Army Regiment HQ), Jatuporn says those were fake Reds. What a load of Weng. They learned this from Thaksin who now denies that the red attacks on the Bangkok neighbourhood locals last Songkran was carried out by 'real' reds. Also, if you are going to lie, keep repeating that lie. That is what the forum Thaksin apologists have learned. Once they have slipped into an unconditional strategic defence of and advance of Thaksin's agenda. Everything is justifiable. That much is clear. Broken Buddha, broken will. It was a very bad omen especially when the troops were just about to move in. This will be talked about for a long time. If the group succeeds, they are real Reds. If they fail, then the violence being committed is by fake Reds. This way the Reds can say their demonstrations were completely peaceful. As you say, an old Thaksin trick. The only one's buying this BS are many wearing Red Shirts who cannot see what is going on elsewhere and some here on TV who never will get it. I'm feeling sorry for the army troops there...they are not returning any blows and just holding steady with their shields, enduring blows to their heads with clubs, deflecting pointed spears and trying to keep the reds from breaking in at the gate. pokerjoe
Humiliating the Army generals & Police chiefs on live television ...I'm sure that will give him their support back."No government can stay in power unless law enforcement is effective", he said. Well, looks like the government won't stay in power then, according to Abhisit himself. "I shall not give up. It is the single mission to achieve," he said. Obviously, not giving up his job as PM is the most important thing. Not even if civil war breaks out in Thailand. The most important mission to achieve is holding on at all cost. What is interesting is that rather than the picture of a hard army pushing the PM, it is the PM who has clarity of purpose and the army leadership which appears weak. Let us see if they can acquire some backbone. I'd say backbone is exactly what they have been showing.

I am sorry. That is terrorism. Look up the definition. The red leaders have morphed into terrorists. Those naive people who ever believed this was a non-violent movement, it is time now to publicly admit your error in judgment. Are you men and women enough? I doubt it. bubba
up date khaosa rd. Just heard Channel 9 saying that the reds from Phan Fa were regrouping at Khao San as they reckon the troops won't go in there for fear of tourists getting caught up. So for today, the non-violent reds: - reds clubbing and spearing troops defending the gates at 1st Army HQ - Jatuporn proposing to take BTS and derail the trains - using tourist human shields in Khao San road to protect themselves.
