Paypal In Thailand

Featured Replies

hey all. I don't have a visa card or thai bank account, but I would like to pay for something using paypal. I know in the uk you can just got to the store and get a paypal prepaid card kind of like 1-2-call for phones is here. But I don't see that in thailand... does anyone know of a way to purchase online thru paypal for people like me without CC's?

Ask someone who has a PP account :)

I don't believe that you can fund Thai PP account other than by credit card or bank account. What sort of value are you looking at?

I have a paypal account online, which i set up a long time before i came to Thailand.

You should be able to set one up online, but will need to set up with a UK bank account as far as i know, i have looked into getting money from paypal into my Thai bank account but i wasn't able to do it.

From memory when you set up the paypal account they will send a small amount like 1p to the bank account you've given them the details of, and then you just confirm the amount online and you should be up and running.

I can't remember whether they also sent a password by post to my address in UK which might be a problem if you are in Thailand...but i'm not 100% certain about that...sorry!!

If you google paypal i'm sure they will have more definate answers

It's no problem withdrawing to a Thai bank, but, unlike the UK, you can't fund from the bank you need a credit card.

The OP has neither credit card nor Thai bank account, I don't think he can fund a PP transaction :)

If it's an eBay purchase PM me :D

There's no problem to transfer money from PP to a bank account in Thailand. Even you have an UK account you still can add another bank to send it, assuming that your account is verified.

i think mst of you got the wrong impression. I mentioned the uk prepaid card as an example. I am not from the uk, so advice on how to set up a uk bank acount to use paypal is not the solution. I simply want to pay a web designer in the states for his work, and paypal is all he accepts....
