The problem with the pastrami that is sold in Villa, Foodland and Carrefour is that it is too lean. I haven't seen any good fatty pastrami in Thailand. Maybe we can get Gerd to sell this if he gets his new venture off the ground. Until then, I'll stick with corned beef reubens, which aren't as disappointing when the beef is lean, because of all the fat in the cheese and 1000 island dressing that goes on the grilled bread. mmmm! :)

Tops in the deli section (cut to order) has a fairly decent pork pastrami. It is NOT New York but when you get a craving, if you close your eyes and have the right mustard, it does the trick.

Oh, and rye bread. Lots of European type around but again, New York rye, forget it.

The Duke's in Chiang Mai has a nice pastrami Rueben sandwich. Many folks say it is the best thing on a very decent menu. :)

The Duke's Pastrami Reuben is a dream. I am one of those who also thinks its the best thing on a great menu.

I agree with the other poster get some nice Pork Pastrami, dont get the beef it sucks and nothing like home. I like the one from Central Chitlom and just steam it not microwave through it on some bread with mustard and your set. I find some good pickles is a bigger problem.

I haven't tried it yet, but I believe the Duke's Express in Bangkok in the Emporium shopping center has them on their menu....they call it a Reuben Pastrami...

See their menu for BKK here....

The burgers there, BTW, which I have tried, are delish!!!!

Try , Sub and suds in Pattaya , i do not have PH# but he is open 24 hrs and delivers 24 hrs, Soi Yamamoto

He has 100 plus items that are all US type, Philly cheese, patty melt, chile and breakfast egg/cheese and sasuage muffin,

i have tried a lot of his stuff and i have been happy.

He makes his own Pastrami , beef and it is good , i like that he uses rye bread when need or you can change to what you like ( roll , bun)

He does a great hot itialian , meat ball , cherzzo and so much i can not list .....but his pastrami is not as large as i would like so i alway order 2 , most would say normal size , but i am 6'2" and 210 + pounds so i do eat big...
