Does anyone know if Khao San Rd is still open? Are tourists still there etc??

I heard they closed it due to volcanic ash in the air...

Or maybe it was from the back packers, who were reportedly seen on balconies flicking ash from "over sized cigarettes" ??

Few days ago it was empty. no atmosphere, dont Bother unless you really need to go there.

was there last night for an hour or so, there were lots of people.

Yes, Khao Sarn Rd is open for business as usual and backpackers are coming back as if nothing ever happened. Getting much busier the past few days.
