So I am here on basis of retirement and using the pension route.

Today I extended my stay and was dealt with by a very pleasent and helpful lady. One extra thing she asked for was to see how I brought money into the country..either bank book or ATM receipts. Of course I had neither but could show her a UK bank statement indicating money from the UK to here. She said next year please bring you bank book............Just a heads up guys.

Also she allowed me to do a new 90 day report...big surprise... That saves me from going again in four weeks. Immigration are very efficent now, I am impressed.

I always find them very helpful in Nonthaburi, especially the senior guy at the back of the room.

Bank Book has always been a requirement to the best of my knowledge.

I thought that you had to have 800,00 in your bank to get a retirement extension, that is why I added my comment.

And had to be 2 months in the bank or 3 months.

But Nothaburi is tops for the staff and the efficiency of its staff.

So I am here on basis of retirement and using the pension route (not the 800,000 baht route).....if you qualify easy ..just a £50 letter from the British Embassy!!

When I told the immigration lady that my letter cost £50...she was totally amazed...that wasn't my thoughts. You are right the Nonthaburi Immigration are quite impressive.

I know that for a marriage extension you have to supply the letter from the Embassy and also Bank Books, to show you have funds in Thailand, I would have thought that this would be the same for Retirement to. But again this is Thailand.
