Fly Fishing Tackle Thailand

Hi There

can anyone tell me of a shop that sells Fly Fishing tackle, rods, reels etc in either Bangkok or Pattaya and address if possible.

I've never seen any Pantip or Fortune town.

Maybe TrueVisions can deliver them together with a satellite dish.

I have been sniffing around quite a fw tackle shops and can quite honestly say I have never seen any fly fishing gear in any of them. Not even at Seven Seas at Bungsamran, (which I think is one of the best shops here).

I suggest look at buying what you need over the internet? Cabelas is good.

I've checked out all the fishing shops in Chiang Mai and I've yet to see any fly fishing tackle. It might be better to have a friend bring some over when they visit. I ALWAYS bring my own fly tackle to Thailand and that is how I fish 90% of the time. There's no problem at all with spinning tackle though. I'm not sure how importing stuff is done. If you have a good connection with some fishing shop maybe they can tell you... or even do it for you. I have a friend in the fishing-outfitting business and I know he imports his tackle, but I've never asked how he did it.

I've been asking the very same question myself actually and all I have found is this website http://www.muangpla.com/. It looks like it has fly fishing gear for sale but I've never made an order or anything. So if anyone is willing to be the shopping guinea pig please feel free!

Since 1999 I have ordered, flies (made inThailand !), rods, reel, lines, waders, boots from the Orvis and Cabelas online shops in the US with no problems apart from the arbitrary "duty" applied by the local post office (Lard Phrao.)

There is also a location map on the website but it is all in Thai. Let me know if you would like an English version and I will see what I can do.

By the way, I do no know this shop and have never been there so I cannot vouch for it in any way or form.

Done a bit more checking. The shop is located on Soi Buri Pi Rom. I would call first just to make sure they have what you want as it is quite a trek out to the suburbs. Their numbers are 02-9883047 and 02-9883242.
