Urologyst

Featured Replies

I live in Had Yai and my father just died of prostate Cancer. The Doctor said I should check mine asap as I am older than 45. I dont know what to say at the hospital does any one have a translation into Thai for Urologyst or Prostate, or rectal exam?

Hi Beammeup

My Mrs who is in the busniss of helping people , mostly Thai, with health problems says:

Doctors will understand the english words for what you want but hospital receptionists may not although they should. She says there are both public (Songkhla hospital) and private both will help you but public will be cheaper although you will have to wait your turn.

If you think you need direct help I can give you a phone number to call when you go to the hospital, for this email me on *****. Her english is good and she understands medical terms.

If you want her help you will have to tell her exactly what you want so she can pass it on to the hospital staff.

You don't need to go to a urologist for a prostate check up.

You can go to a clinic and get a rectal exam done and also a blood test for PSA.

If there is then anything abnormal then the next step would be urologist for specialist treatment.

คุณพ่อเสียชีวิตจากมะเร็งต่อมลูกหมาก = Father passed away from prostate cancer

คุณหมอแนะนำให้มาตรวจ = The doctor advised to get prostate checked.

I think the hospital staff will understand you when you say Urologyst anyway.

As Tolley mentioned, you do not need a urologist to do the DRE and PSA test.

Any trusted local clinic/hospital can perform the simple procedure.
