First Visit To Doctor For Pregnant Wooman

Featured Replies

Hello,

My wife pregnant, now on 5th week. We choosed Bumrungrad International hospital for givin birth and visited doctor there.

In my home country in 1st visit to doctor after detecting pregnancy usual making a lot of tests, blood, urina, ultrasound and et.

In Bumrungrad doctor just asked fwe general questions, looked my wife and adviced take vitamins. Ultrasaund adviced make after one month. no other tests made.

Its ok, general behavior for thai doctors or we jsut need to look for another doctor? Anybody have personal expirience for 1st visit to doctor for pregnant wooman?

My wife worry about :)

Thank you.

I found the doctor that my wife used to be excellent and he had nothing special to say the first time either. Sounds like a good sign to me.

Nothing much to do after 5 weeks, relax and be happy and enjoy what's growing in the little tummy :)

At 5 weeks there is nothing that the doctor can check for, the featus isn't big enough to give any results on anything beyond being proof of pregnancy. At around 11 weeks they can start scans & blood tests to check for risk of downs & other possible birth defects & around 20 weeks you can find out the sex.
