Tom Tom Satellite Navigation

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a good satellite navigation system in ENGLISH to buy here in Phuket and what price should I expect to pay for one ?

Back in the UK I used to use a TOM TOM are these available here?

Thanks in advance for your recommendations...

I'm using the Garmin 205 since July last year and I'm quite happy with it. Driving about 5,000 km a month is has been already of great help.

This model is not expensive at all. I paid 7,900 THB but recently I have seen it for 4,900 THB.

Tomtom maps only were released a few months ago, and is still in early stages..

Garmin is the defacto leader in mapping, which becomes much more important in less well mapped developing countries, I wont buy anything else.

Garmin nuvi widescreen is good for cars, 60CSX for biking and outdoor pursuits. Buy in west and add the maps here if you have a chance.

As per posters above - Garmin has also been independently assessed as the best quality of the SatNav systems available.
