Thai Authorities To Sever Red-Shirts Supply Lines

Recommended Posts

I say CUT EVERYTHING (people getting in/out, power, food, water, mobile, internet): AND send in the soldiers to push out the red-rabble NOW, TODAY!! This has gone on long enough. ...

Having just come from Rachaprasong; there aren't more than (at a high estimate) MAYBE 5000 people there, IF that. Mostly they are old women and bangkokians who want free food and to party.

As an aside; also having just come from the Lumpini/Rama VI tree fort, there are far FEWER protestors (maybe not more than 1000) there, except for whack-job Seh Daeng, known to ALL thais as เศษ แดง (ask your thai significant other if what I wrote is correct, as opposed to เสธ. the abbreviation for "aide-de-campe"). He is a loose cannon, (I can't believe someone hasn't taken him out already).

Again, I say; kick 'em out; and send 'em packing back to Nakhon Nowhere where they come from.

Just maybe in the NEXT election they'll think twice about selling their vote, or voting like the Puu-Yai-Baan in their pissant village tells them to..

A good adage is starting to sound like: "Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out." (after all, that's His job, right?)

You don't believe what I'm saying is true, LISTEN to Red-Rachaprasong-Radio (between 106.7-106.90 on your FM dial depending on the strength of the government blocking signal).

For those foreigners who can't/won't learn thai have your (in)significant other translate it for you. The redz are preaching some really FUC*ED UP <deleted>.

They got everything they asked for, but won't leave and now blame Abhisit for backing out of the deal for elections in November (red apologists: how fuc*ed up is that??) . .. Because the leaders don't have automatic bail, when/if they ever show up for their arrest warrants. ..

The only losers in this entire debacle are the rank-n-file thai protestors, NOT the leaders. .. :)

Yadda yadda yadda. Cut back on the sugar, will you?

Got my bathtub full of water, all batteries charged, 7 Eleven worth of food/snacks that require no cooking and a fire extinguisher... just in case...

What about bottled water? Or are you planning to use that water in the tub for drinking in lieu of a cyanide tablet?

Yes you are right . It is chicken and eggs .

Well if the reds , or rather some militia supportive of the reds bring lethal firearms while

the other side dont , they would be totally discredited to the whole world .

And moreover we know that some police or army while beeing ordered by the gov

are pro-reds while other are anti-reds . If they have lethal weapons its even worse

they end up shooting at each other

Actually they are already discredited to the world.

And even if the authorities had no weapons, the illegal violent red mob would say they did and blame them for the killings.

As far as I know the police didn't bring grenade launchers to the illegal mob gathering but that didn't stop these supporters of terrorism blaming the authorities for the grenade attack on the sky train.

And all the evidence indicates the gov't NEVER ordered troops to do anything but obey internationally accepted tactics. So, your comment that "we know" is an untruth unless you live in fantasy land.

I have links pointing to the "we know" ...

Do you have links prooving the reds launched the grenade on Silom ?.

From where i stand could be any nutcase . provocator

The Red Shirts invasion of the Chula hospital was 29th April. Police then moved in and secured the area after they left.

5 May 2010 (NNT) – "M79 grenade attacks at Sala Daeng Intersection on 22 April 2010 have been proven to be shot from Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, according to the Central Institute of Forensic Science Director, Khunying MD Pornthip Rojanasunan."

http://www.siamdailynews.com/2010/05/11/sa...gkorn-hospital/

As the hospital was guarded from the Red Shirts and the forensic experts say that the grenades were launched from there, read between the lines and draw your own conclusions. You may also thus consider the possibility that the Red Shirts may have been correctly informed about soldiers being there in the first place. Truth doesn't seem very important in this country...

The tub full of water is for:

1. Shower.

2. Wash dishes.

3. Brush teeth.

(Repeat in the morning)

In that exact order. :)

Thaaaaaaaksin, where are you? Go and get your meals elsewhere. Montenegro will be closed for you soon too.

Ensure accountability for "war on drugs" extrajudicial killings

Human Rights Watch commends your government for initially supporting the reopening of investigations into the 2,819 extrajudicial killings that allegedly accompanied former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's "war on drugs" in 2003. However, we are concerned that progress has stalled in holding accountable all those responsible, particularly because of strong resistance by the Royal Thai Police, which was implicated in many of these killings. We urge the government to redouble its efforts to bring perpetrators of these killings to justice, to dismiss those individuals involved, and to end systematic police brutality and abuse of power in drug suppression operations.

You don't believe what I'm saying is true, LISTEN to Red-Rachaprasong-Radio (between 106.7-106.90 on your FM dial depending on the strength of the government blocking signal).

So that's why FM 107 has been essentially off the air recently. You can't hear anything on the frequency but a loud whining noise. Obviously the government trying to block out the illegal red signal.

Man, if I owned that radio station I would PISSED at those red terrorist bastards. How much money have they lost over the last 2 months? How much will they lose in the future. Their entire business is shot. Maybe permanently. All their listeners have moved away.

Yet another civil lawsuit just waiting for a target. It is simply astounding to me the damage those cretins are allowed to do to Thailand with no repercussions.

Thai way or not, I think it is time to seriously consider conceding to Jatuporn's request. I believe it was he who said he would rather die than stop the rally. It is the only thing he has ever said that both he and I can agree on.

I would rather he die also.

So, residents have been told to move, and then?

Nothing

In all honesty, as much as I may sympathise with either side, to announce that you the government are going to do something so simple as cutting the power to a few city blocks 12 hours in advance and then back down is utterly pitiful.

What kind of a plan is that?

This isn't a game of spoof in the pub.

I have just read here that services to Ratchaprasong will not be terminated at midnight!!

Had to register as a new member in order to post this VITAL new information:

1. Khun Weera has been offered a suite at the Grand Hyatt Erawan in order to spare him the embarassment of hiding from Seh Daeng in the toilets.

2. The executive chefs from the Four Seasons, the Hyatt and the Intercontinental will be preparing the very best sticky rice, somtam and deep fried locusts for free distribution for all those who are suitably dressed in red.

3. The (now redundant) masseuses from Sukhumvit will be offering free foot massages for those suffering from the ordeal of manning barricades in the hot sun all day.

I think I'll drop by tomorrow for a nice relaxing day in the sun....

Think you've done enough already

Let me guess, your existence is not in danger, you are not loosing money daily because of the reds - you may not be able to pay for school-fees for your child next term because of the reds - you do not stand to loose everything you worked hard for for years - if this mob is not cleared a.s.a.p. - think or at least try to think that a hel_l of a lot of peoples existence is put in real jeopardy...

I have great sympathy for the sentiment expressed here. If you are talking about a Thai.

But if you are talking about a foreigner I do think its a little different. The foreigner came here by his own volition, and had every opportunity over the last several decades to come to know the risks of investing here, which extend well beyond political instability.

I shouldnt think any foreigner should put himself in a position in his Thai investments where he stand "to loose [sic] everything you worked hard for for years." The country clearly has its charms, but a reasonably safe investment enviroment for one's money is hardly one of them.

But on the other hand, as a high risk investment for a small slice of a diversified portfolio (for those lucky enough to have such a thing), maybe there is no better time to invest than right now?

I am a foreigner with a thai wife, thai mother-in-law and a thai daughter. So i guess you hope that only I loose everything but somehow the thai side of our family does fine.

Good times or bad, the best investments in Thailand are:

1) Government contracts with a guaranteed 30% return, non-taxable as it's off the books

2) Dating a hi-so person, guaranteeing perpetual returns over your lifetime and your kids'

3) Stock in the Police, never a loss, always on the up (think Somali pirate structure)

4) Por Bor Tor 5 land: cheap and quick returns if you don't piss off any political party

Stay away from Thai stocks. The SET is manipulated by a hand full of individuals. Why invest in Thai companies that all have two sets of accounts? You really think they honestly report to the SET?

5 Kms of roads inside the protest area. How many 1000's of residents in that central block?

I wonder if this is practical. What if there is a fire in an apartment building for example?

Exactly. A total PR disaster waiting to happen... A little common sense would have help tacticians to decide who would be most effected - country campers or Hi So condo dwellers unused to roughing it without their air conditioners and hair straighteners...

Now it has all fallen apart - and they are calling it a 'delay' : http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/05...?section=justin

Someone forgot to teach Abhisit critical thinking during his privileged schooling in England. Maybe he would have been better off not shirking his military service and learning the simplicity of camping...

You can also use it to fill the back of your toilet for flushing when needed. Always good to be prepared but I really don't see them turning off the water. Electricity and communications yes but not the water. Very little (if anything) gained and just way too much risk. When the reds lite fires their can be no question that the destruction could have been averted if they had not shut off the water.

There is no doubt in my mind if the poop hits the fan here that the illegal violent red mob will at minimum enter the structures in the seized areas but almost sure will set them ablaze. They have talked from the start of burning down various structures within BKK and BKK as a whole.

Are you in a Condo or Apartment? How many of your neighbors are still around?

Yeah, taking a few lessons in capitalisation ('thai') and punctuation ( ; ) would help. Also, the idea of Thai being a form of abbreviation for a French loan-word is a new concept! Thanks for the help with understanding a few languages. Distracts from the gloating over the possibility of killing all of 'em "old women and bangkokians who want free food and to party"...

Apartment. As of May 1, I am alone on this floor. Don't see many people on other floors either.

Most packed up because of noise every night, some because of high electricity bills due to heatwave aircon use, some others for safety concern and finally some because of the smell from the red encampment and harassment of redshirts in the evenings.

Overall feel sorry for the landlord.

Does it really smell? I thought they had portable toilets, showers, etc. set up?
