Bang, The Lights Go Out

Featured Replies

that was strange.

high winds out here by the holiday inn.

heard a couple explosions and the power went out.

then a few more loud bangs on cm-lamphun road near the market.

all quiet now.

Transformers? (not the movie kind :))

Cheers,

Pikey.

Transformers?

mmm....could be....or perhaps something more nefarious?

more than meets the eye, indeed!

It happened to me a couple of time in sukhumvit soi 12. Most of the time the wind made a blowout with the wires and the transformers cut after a big bang!

Still out 50% here in Wang Tan...

Interesting trying to bake a pizza in a big wok on gas! Was ok, except I burnt the bottom!

and it only took our condo 10 minutes to get the power back on

Emergency genny?

lucky. ours cut in pretty quickly, but overheated within 15 minutes.

Power just back on Mae Hia, Canal Rd. Off for over an hour. Severly heavy rainfall 2-3 hours ago

And it took 4 1/2 hours here in Saraphi to get it back...?? Just came back now at 9.30 pm :):D:D And it happens here in Saraphi EVERYTIME the we get a strong wind storm....EVERYTIME!!! Grrrr..... and never comes back till min 3-4 hours !!!

and it only took our condo 10 minutes to get the power back on

even stranger :D

Yeah, what's that all about then? Most heavy rains our power goes (Mae Jo) for between 30 mins and a few hours. You'd think that once they'd sussed the problem, they'd put a permanent fix in place. Mind you, looking at the spagetti wiring everywhere, I suppose it only takes a bit of wind and a couple of badly insulated cables to come together and "BANG" there you go again. TIT - gotta love it! :)
