Flame for the offender --- what were you thinking? Really, just look at the amount of paraphernalia and other idiotic garbage you had in your apartment. Not to mention the addict GF. What did you think was going to happen? LOL This is nothing short of disturbing and I'm surprised he wasn't caught sooner! :)

" Swede has also allegedly attempted to bribe police with an amount of Bt1 million to avoid arrest over the serious charges."

Maybe the judge will be more receptive ? :)

"Mr. Koch and his girlfriend were subsequently arrested and all evidence was collected before they were escorted to the Pattaya Police Station. Allegedly Mr. Koch had attempted to offer police a bribe of some Bt1 million baht in an attempt to avoid being arrested along with his girlfriend."

So many claim that Thai police are corrupt.

Appears not to be true in this case.

The police claim he offered a million. I suspect he actually offered 50,000 baht, and waited until that would have needed to be shared among a lot of people. If he had offered a big bribe to the right person when first arrested but before any paperwork, it probably would have worked. That said, I may be unfair. On rare occasions, I have met an honest policeman in Thailand (most recently in Surin).

I've got a Thai friend in a special unit, stationed in Korat, working also in Pattaya. They don't take money, most of them are very serious not to be corrupt. What you suspect is something else. Not all cats are black, or?

There's no need for his sex toys any more, he might have some human help, without electrical problems while using them.

UPDATE

Swede Arrested for Drug Possession in Pattaya

When police raided the room, they found various narcotics and firearms, a device for packing drugs, and US$ worth of 500,000. The man and his girlfriend have now been arrested.

In a news conference, Police Colonel Krita Tankanard announced that a 41 year old foreign man and his 22 year old girlfriend have been arrested. The couple is suspected of being part of a gang involved with drug trafficking.

The accused are Mr. Henrik Christian Koch from Sweden and Ms. Paveena Srimuang, who is from Thailand. They were arrested at the Four Seasons Hotel in Pattaya and Mr. Koch explained that all the items found in the room, including some dildos, belonged to him. He then tried to offer the police one million Baht for letting him go even though he only had 500,000 Baht in his possession.

The Swede is suspected of being part of a gang importing and distributing heroin, amphetamine E, and K to foreigners in Pattaya, including selling on the Walking Street. He is further charged with attempt to bribe a police officer on duty.

It was also a planned sting operation if Im reading it right and not a random find by 1 or 2 police. Surprised he doesn't have a "contact" in that department with all the goodies he had and no insurance? hmmmm yeah also curious about the toys what a party! and why o they need the lighters in the photo? Not too bright dealing in this country.

Guess the Smith & Wesson was just a sex toy. The vibes were just decoration.

It's pretty obvious why foreigners had lost so much face in the LOS.

Are dildo's illegal in Thailand? If they are then that is quite a shock.

Dealing drugs in Thailand is so so stupid.

This guy deserves all he gets if not for being plain stupid. :D

Glad to hear not all cops are corrupt.

Maybe it's just the traffic cops that are?

Every time I get pulled over my 100 baht is sitting nicely in my top pocket for a smooth transaction... :)

Swedes are not known for their endowment...

Actually, we are. :)

But that is neither here nor there.

Thought I would bring over some facts from the article:

Mr. Henrik Christian Koch (41) - German decendant name.

What they found in his room:

Girlfriend, Miss Paweena Srimueng (22)

1.5g of Ya-Ice, 10.5g of cocaine, 1 Ya-Ba pill, 1 Ya-E pill, and 0.5g of Ya-K

a variety of sex toys, Bt500,000 in cash and a .38 calibre pistol with 9 rounds

That is a lot of blow. At 3.5k per G, the street value of the cocaine alone is 36 million. (His income would be lower, but still...)

Not sure what Ya-Ice is. If normal Ice, the street value at 3k per G his 1.5kg is worth 4.5 million baht.

My bet: 30+ years in prison for him.

Edit: HAH - yes, he was carrying gram, not kilo...and I read the report that he was a big dealer. Hence I misread it, somehow, as kg. :D

So I revise my estimation to 12 years in jail. :D
