theoldgit
Whatever peoples opinions of this guy it's another loss of a human being which I fear will be the catalyst for further loss of life. My personal opinion is that he was taken out in revenge for the deaths of other soldiers and whilst I clearly have no proof, it remains my opinion. There is no place for "summary justice" in a civilised society.
ratcatcher
My condolences to his family who loved him as a father. His daughter will still grieve for him. Personally no sympathy with him as he sought to be a hero and now has died one, for all the wrong reasons.

neverdie
Please be mindful that there is nothing to be gained by saying negative stuff towards a dead man. You are better to say nothing at all than something spiteful. Condolences to his family. Condolences to all those who have died so unnecessarily & for reasons that could of been sorted out by other means. Sad times for Thailand. Who, me ?
What goes around comes around. One menacing thug less to deal with. He definitely stopped to be a menace on May 13th No matter what bad he did, he was a human being. Every loss is one too much..... I had no sympathy for the guy, but still, it is one loss of life..... ratcatcher
He may have been a thug, but he was a brave thug. You have to give him that. You make a very valid point. Brave indeed, misguided even, but a far more memorable character than his cowardly patron, sponsor, hiding in Montenegro.

Carib
Well, according to his own words : Who dares to come and get me.... Someone did. Let`s make no mistake, this man was killed, murdered by someone. I am not give you my personal guess on as to the why and by whom, no place for that discussion here imho. But what ever we may think or guess, it was murder, and I can only hope his death will not lead to more killing on whatever side. ETatBKK
condolences to his family ! nevertheless it is a lost of life. yet, his bad news in one way may save some other life, on the other way it may be an emotional trigger for more violence from now. Whilst I personally won't shed a tear for someone who has played a pivotal role in instigating the current violence, the fact remains that his daughter has lost her father and that is a sad day for anyone, so my sympathies for her. I fear the death could lead to a further escalation in violence.
Thaihog
The government should have kept him locked up when they had the chance, along with some of the other red shirt leaders. No doubt there will be some retaliatory action today and the man will be hailed as a martyr.....

IMHO too, it is a dangerous zone here as some people would jump into the own opinions and gussing the cause and the responsibility. there will be no fact, no support and no truth and no answer neither. that may lead to another cyber war on the ThaiVisa forum. hope the moderator takes good care of this sensitivity. Robby nz
Possibly not the most savory character but it would have been better if there were no deaths at all. Condolences to his family. Who will benefit most from his death? On the Govt side: He is no longer a catalyst and rallying point for his troops but I would suspect he has able prodigy’s who are now carrying on his work so really not a great benefit, I suspect they would much rather have seen him captured, court marshaled and disgraced . For the reds: They now have a martyr they can hold up as some sort of god, we already see on this site the Army and the PM being called murders for other deaths so he will now be used as a rallying point and a reason to continue. There is also the point that he had threatened to shoot any of the red leaders who left the protest, that threat has now removed, or is it possibly his orders will still be carried out? He was also the self confessed link to Thaksin and as the red leaders seem to want to distance themselves from Thaksin it could be to their benefit that that link has been broken. Only speculation but........

tonywebster
This guy served his country, then his country tried to humiliate him by making him teach aerobics, he was in a better position than anyone on this forum to know exactly what was going on, he chose his side and he put himself in the firing line and for that many people should thank him for highlighting many things. Brave? well considering he knows full well that he could not rely on the law to save him, or indeed ethics, then yes he was a brave man, he must have knwon that at some point the bullet was coming but he was still out there every day. Whatever some on here may think of him he had more balls than the majority of posters on here put together. R.I.P
Tigs
Condolences to his daughters for the loss of their Father. However, some of your comments really make me laugh. Thousands of Children die everyday from malaria, starvation etc etc and we have people saying with a crocodile tear in their eyes, "this was a human life, one too many, it doesn't matter what he has done etc etc. Make no mistake about it, this guy ordered the killing of many Thais and would have continued to do so, he issued death threats to his own leaders and would have carried them out. he had an ego the size of Jupiter. i am sure there is a forum on the net somewhere for sycophants, you should all post there. This man was not brave, he tried to improve his own career prospects and had people killed in the process. Non of this is negative, it is fact. There are many many innocents around the world today that need your sorrow and condolences and prayers. Seh Daeng is not one of them, he dines with the Devil tonight.
