wheelyking Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I currently have a pretty crappy web connection in my apartment as i'm in the last apartment in the block on a wireless network. Downloading video takes hours, and email is a right bind to retrieve. Download speed is all over the place, but maxes out at around 30kb/s. I'd like to get a hard line installed, phone lines are installed into reception, but not connected to apartment. Does any one here have any experience with this? Any advice greatly received. Alex

Peterocket Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 CAT do a wireless router that allows connections for up to 5 devices/users Cost for router is about 8900 baht and then 1090 per month. Download speeds are 2mb maximum but expect to receive about 1mb.
MrE Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 The best connection I ever had in seven years in Phuket was the TOT WiMax which cost THB 1,500 per month. In a year it was down once and for only a few hours. The catch is that you have to have a direct line of sight to the towers on the hill in Phuket Town. If you can see them even with binoculars, you're set.

This is of course different to the CAT (cdma) wireless ??
